Product Description

Editorial Review

After a grownup snaps this smiling red plastic bean pot together, it stands 5 inches tall. The trick is for two to four young children to drop beans onto the pot's lid, one by one, without spilling them. The more beans there are, the more care they must take. If--well, actually, when--they upset the balance of the pot, they spill the beans. And naturally everyone squeals and has a good time. The first person to get rid of all their beans is the winner. This is a fun game for young children, and no reading is required to play, but be sure to keep those beans out of reach of kids who are still apt to put things other than real food in their mouths. --Rebecca Hughes

Product Description

Be careful...Don't spill the beans! Drop these happy beans one by one into the pot as it wobbles back in forth. Try to balance them, and try not to spill them, because if you do the game is through! Game includes: Bean pot, lid, arms, base, beans and label sheet.

For 2 to 4 players.

4.0 out of 5 stars Add weight and add some fun, November 17, 2001

I agree with the previous reviews. When you first play with the toy, it's boring because it tips after 10 or less beans are used. However, this problem is easy to solve. Before placing the tray on the pot, place some coins in the bottom of the pot. The weighted pot allow the child to place more beans on top. Once we weighted the pot, our three boys had a lot more fun with the game. Now, they get excited as they watch the beans pile up, and when the pot spills it's much more fun to see a large amount of beans topple over than just 10 or less. My three older boys (ages 2-5) really enjoy playing with the game now. In addition, it's a game that they can play without help from an adult which is nice. For the price, it's definitely worth the investment.

3.0 out of 5 stars Could be better..., August 8, 2000

Unfortunately it takes very few beans before you "spill the beans". Each player gets about 25 - 30 beans to start the game, but every game my son (3 years old) and I play, we end up spilling over at about 10 beans total. So the game doesn't last long, which takes most of the fun away. And my son is not learning much about balancing things. Even when I've tried to play alone (and I am knowledgable as to how to balance the pot), I still can't get many beans on before it spills.

We really, really do not like this game. It is boring and doesn't work very well. The beans slide off the top with very little tilt and once it does tilt, it stays there. The only redeeming quality is that you can use it for counting. ...
