Before I begin to rant-get one thing straight. I LOVE BOARD GAMES!!! So you can imagine how bad this is, if someone like me, who owns at least 200 board games, despises it. This game is just plain stupid. Also, since I tend to get nervous when I'm on timer, hated the little hourglass, pouring sand into the bottom chamber. Please, don't throw away your hard-earned money,...

A word is picked from a certain catagory and there's only a certain amount of time allowed to draw and let your team mate guess the word. ANY age can play and everyone has a real good time. Sometimes the opposite team member gets so caught up in the drawings made and the fun and fast pace, that they will shout out what they think the drawing is and might be helping an opponent. I love this game.........IT"S SUPER-DOOPER FUN!!!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Game Of Quick Draw, November 24, 2003

Pictionary, the game of quick draw. This game is truly AWESOME. I played when I was just seven years old, so I didn't quite understand some words and the rules. I just liked being told what to draw and then drawing it. Now, I am older, and I understand probably over 3/4 of the words, so it's easier and more fun. The whole excitement is great. You only get one minute to draw a picture, and the whole excitement of people having to guess what you draw is really great. I don't have the game, but my parents and I are planning on getting it, of course, it's the old "You want it, you buy it." so thankfully I have enough money.
I really reccomend this game to everyone, especially ones who love to draw, like me. You are guaranteed to have a blast!

College freshmen - sometime during orientation you will be forced to play this game! Sure, it's silly, and you definitely have to be in the mood to make an idiot out of yourself, but hey - It's fun. It helps if you and your team mates share a psychic bond so you can sense what that squiggle with a blob on top is supposed to mean. For a real challenge, use the pictionary cards to play charades (ever tried to act out paisley?)

Parents looking for a way to bond and have a lot of fun with their kids should get this ASAP. I played with my 10 year old daughter and she came up with the answer "Phantom of the Opera" after I drew just two squiggle lines. The game is as much a test of telepathy as it is of artistic talent.

There are many entertaining Board Games, but by time the fun gets lost but not with Pictionary! What makes Pictionary so much fun no matter how much you play it are:

1. Each player has his/her own imagination. So no matter how often you play the game, each player might draw or guess differently the same card!

2. It's fun for parents to enjoy it with their teens.

3. It's fun for friends to play it together.

4. It's fun when men play against their wives (oh I love this one)!

Do you know it's very difficult to draw simple objects? Just try drawing anything and see what others guess it. Oh sometime they go very far that even if you wanted them to guess that word they'd have not :-)

One of the best games that are as good as this one (if not better) is Taboo! Have fun...

5.0 out of 5 stars All age-groups and use dry erase boards, May 16, 2004

Pictionary is a great game that anyone can play. You can play with your entire family and people from different age-groups. Kids can play as long as they are told what the words mean, and even people who do not speak English so well can enjoy this game. It is a great ice-breaker for anyone. I pull it out for parties without worrying about who will fit in or who will feel left out.

Our family has been playing this game with dry erase boards for a while now. Not only does it save on paper, it is so much more fun. There are new strategies in eraseing pictures and using multiple colors. It really changed our game nights with these boards. My husband just purchased whiteboards at, eraseboards.com(?), I think. Pretty affordable. Every Pictionary owner should try using dry erase.

Pictionary deserves to go down as one of the all time great boardgames. We've owned this game for years and whenever it is bought out it is loved by all. It has appeal for both young and old. No matter what your level of drawing skill is, you can enjoy this game, granted that a talented drawer may have the slightest of edges. Just have plenty of pencils and paper handy and don't pair up with your wife, husband or partner! Overall, a great value game, that is heaps of fun and educational for younger players as it introduces new words to them. Highly recommended. Ready, set.......go!

We always play pictionary girls against the guys at holiday parties. We laugh until we cry every time we play. It has become tradition now, and the kids always love to play too. It is great multi-generational fun!

We used Pictionary as an ice breaker with a group of new hires at my company. It really invigorated the group. The only thing is that the words are that challenging for adults.
