This review is from: Milton Bradley Yahtzee Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (Toy)
Yahtzee Jr. is a favorite game in our house. It's easy to play (5 and 3 year old children play) but it actually involves some thinking and skill so it's not boring for adults. Each round/game only takes about 10 minutes so it's a quick play, too. To make it educational besides the thought and strategy at each role, have the children count their points up at the end. The score board makes it super easy to practice adding and counting. I have my 5 year old add his points (5 Mickeys plus 2 Donalds...) and my 3 year old counts each square to get her point value. Great for early math skills and did I mention, it's fun!

It's sometimes hard to find games that my six year old and three year old can both play (much less play together instead of on a team w/ an adult) but this little variation on Yahtzee is great.
You put the stickers on the dice (kids love helping with that) and you roll to get as many of each character as possible per round. You use chips to mark how many of each character you get; the characters are the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse classic Disney characters: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Pluto. Unlike regular Yahtzee, there's no "full house" or "wild card" or any of the stuff from the lower half of your score sheet. The game's length of play is perfectly matched to the attention span of its intended audience. My kids also like playing with the dice b/c of the characters. It's good at teaching counting, grid reading, turn-taking and even statistics. The kids will just think it's tons of fun. I'd recommend it for home, school or daycare. The price is right too. Check it out :)

This is one of those rare toys that, if it were lost or destroyed, I'd run to the store and buy another! My 4 yr old got this as a birthday gift, and for the past 18 months, we play it every week! The best part, in my opinion, is that the parent won't be driven insane by a game that never ends (a-hem, Candy Land, anyone?). It's actually fun for the grown-ups to.
