5.0 out of 5 stars So fun, easy and educational!
Yahtzee Jr. is a favorite game in our house. It's easy to play (5 and 3 year old children play) but it actually involves some thinking and skill so it's not boring for adults. Each round/game only takes about 10 minutes so it's a quick play, too. To make it educational besides the thought and strategy at each role, have the children count their points up at the end...

3.0 out of 5 stars Why not learn with the numbered dice?
Around the time kids are ready to sit down to play a game like yahtzee they are ready to learn some counting. The yahtzee game with numbered dice is a great way to learn counting/numbers. The part my kids like is shaking the dice...they get plenty of that in the regular game too. There's nothing "wrong" with the version with Mickey Mouse, but I don't see the point.

Each round/game only takes about 10 minutes so it's a quick play, too. To make it educational besides the thought and strategy at each role, have the children count their points up at the end. The score board makes it super easy to practice adding and counting. I have my 5 year old add his points (5 Mickeys plus 2 Donalds...) and my 3 year old counts each square to get her point value. Great for early math skills and did I mention, it's fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy for pre-schoolers and early grade kids, December 9, 2009

It's sometimes hard to find games that my six year old and three year old can both play (much less play together instead of on a team w/ an adult) but this little variation on Yahtzee is great.

You put the stickers on the dice (kids love helping with that) and you roll to get as many of each character as possible per round. You use chips to mark how many of each character you get; the characters are the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse classic Disney characters: Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, Daisy and Pluto.

Unlike regular Yahtzee, there's no "full house" or "wild card" or any of the stuff from the lower half of your score sheet. The game's length of play is perfectly matched to the attention span of its intended audience. My kids also like playing with the dice b/c of the characters.

It's good at teaching counting, grid reading, turn-taking and even statistics. The kids will just think it's tons of fun. I'd recommend it for home, school or daycare. The price is right too. Check it out :)

5.0 out of 5 stars My 4 year old played this until it fell apart!, January 19, 2012

This is one of those rare toys that, if it were lost or destroyed, I'd run to the store and buy another! My 4 yr old got this as a birthday gift, and for the past 18 months, we play it every week! The best part, in my opinion, is that the parent won't be driven insane by a game that never ends (a-hem, Candy Land, anyone?). It's actually fun for the grown-ups to.

Bought this for my 4 year old. (Age on box says 4 plus). It's a quick fun game that although there a bunch of concepts, you can play with supervision. My daughter already started playing on her own with our 2 year old. The fact that this is related to Mickey Mouse Clubhouse actually enhances the value as my daughter loves saying "Meeska Mooska Mickey Mouse" before each roll. Definitely seems she can learn math by playing the game as she matures. After 2 years of playing Candyland and Chutes and Ladders, excited to play something a little more fun and less repetitive. There is actually some strategy involved. Good licensing. Oh, yeah I bought this at Toys R Us on sale for $5.00. Don't think it's worth $30.00. Probably the most it's worth is $15.00. Would be great birthday present for 4 year and 5 year olds.

5.0 out of 5 stars Meeska Mooska Mickey Mouse ..., August 10, 2011

Meeska Mooska Mickey Mouse ... I want to see the clubhouse. My boys (5 and almost 4) loved saying that phrase along with other phrases they made up while shaking the dice. The clubhouse is the wild character. It is a great matching and counting game. The game is played quickly with only 5 rounds. If you are the first or second player to roll Yahtzee, then you get to choose the Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse pawn which grants the player 1 extra point. We changed that rule. If a player rolls Yahtzee after the second player, then they can steal another player's Yahtzee pawn. You never know who may end up with the extra point Yahtzee pawn. Each player has 5 character tiles of the same color. There is one scoreboard for all players. You are not guaranteed the high point score if another player has already claimed that character space on the game board.

My son got this game for his 5th birthday and really enjoys it but it is also great because his 2 year old little brother can also play with some help from a grown-up.
