4.0 out of 5 stars Return to form, May 10, 1999
This review is from: Miltons (Audio CD)
I'm a huge Milton fan, but I wasn't crazy about some of the overproduced (or, rather, inappropiately--I feel--produced) records he did in the late 80s/early 90s (e.g., Yauarete). This, however, is excellent. It's pretty sparsely produced and restores the focus to the songs and that magnificent voice, which is where it should be. Check out Herbie Hancock absolutely tearing it up on "San Vicente." My goodness.

5.0 out of 5 stars His absolute BEST!, August 24, 2005

This is the first album by Milton that I ever came across and is still my favorite, as another listener said. "Endless" and "Fruta Boa" are gorgeous and romantic. The language is always surprising. The CD, from pictures to the epigraph, to the songs themselves, are perfection in artistry. Other CDs he has done with American artists or English-language songs just don't
come up to this recording. Hollis Greenspan, mshollisg@msn.com

This is not only Nascimento's best album but it also showcases Herbie Hancock's piano playing at his acoustic best! As many times as i listen to
Don Quixote it still gives me the chills! Highly recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Superb album, April 10, 2009

This album is terrific, the best launched by Milton in the 80s in my opinion. His voice is at its best, and Herbie Hancock is also superb playing piano. My favorite songs are Don Quixote, Good Fruit, Semen and San Vicente.

5.0 out of 5 stars Last true classic from Mr. Nascimento, March 13, 2008
This review is from: Miltons (Audio CD)
This record is as magical as his 1970s classics such as Clube De Esquina and Milagre Dos Peixes. And it is a big improvement over his good-but-not-great 1980s output. As good a place as any for the curious to start a Milton collection and a must for fans.

4.0 out of 5 stars wonderful piano-- soft brazilian rhythms-- lazy afternoon perfect, April 6, 2007
This review is from: Miltons (Audio CD)
This is a poetic album-- piano takes its dominat role by playing those indescriptible accords that go so well with Milton's soft, non strident voice-- this s an album to let your soul rest and be transported to an easy world

I loved this cd! Milton's voice is unique in its tone and very effective in the delivery. This was the first cd of his that I heard. To date, it remains my favorite.
