28 Volt with corded power.,
By
This review is from: Milwaukee 0756-22 28-Volt Cordless V28 Lithium-Ion Compact 1-Inch SDS Rotary Hammer with Case (Tools & Home Improvement)
After using Milwaukee corded tools since the late 60s, I have been replacing my older equipment with the V28 series of tools and have used them exclusively since.
The Rotary Hammer Drill is no exception to the rule as far as portability, power, and performance are concerned. I recently removed 150 sq. ft. of tile that in a house that had been down for approximately 50 years. One battery charge, a couple of hours, and the job was done ready for new flooring installation. One feature, rarely mentioned about this tool, is the ability to lock the chuck into one position in the "hammer only" mode. This allows the tool to fit in places that would normally require manual efforts. The optional SDS/Chuck adapter allows the use of conventional drill bits, but the tool itself is "over kill" on the smaller jobs requiring a hammer drill mode. All and all I will continue to replace my corded tools as Milwaukee produces more models in the 28 volt line; this tool is no exception to that rule. Coupled with a 5 year warranty, the MilwaukeeV28 Rotary Hammer will fill the needs of most corded applications.

it's worth the dime. that being said no cordless will be better than a corded tool. i bought it because it had the rebate for the third battery.
575. three batteries. with a corded tool you have to drag a cord. time is money so when you need the juice plug in. when you need to move this is the tool. 3/8" & 5/8" wedge anchors, 3/8" sleeve anchors, 5/8" lead anchors, 3/16" concrete screws and 1" chipping bit. a hard piece of agragate will slow you down but if you use the correctly you will have success. punch & dimple door frames, floor closer install and removal (not initial demo for pit bucket,) thresholds, floorstops, removable mullions. totally awesome for ones & twos... let the hammer work for you which means you don't have to push with the force of the unstoppable. it will go thru. when the battery dies, it dies, none of this slowly dying, it's dead. bit six inches in and it's dead. they charge fast and they are not finicky to get off like some other cordless tools. i wouldn't use it in the rain and i would buy it agin. hilti jus came out with a lithium version for twice the price. twice as nice? everything breaks someday. there will be a new flavor of the month next year but for right now i am not dragging two hundred feet of extension to meander around the maze of a construction labyrinth. the bit pocket in the hardcase is stupid. it opens when you try and close the box and there is a dumb moment of close and slam that never works... the pocket is lame. just not thought out with actual use in mind.

I recently purchased this item expecting big things from it as I already own most of the V28 line of tools and have been impressed with them very much. To say that I was not disappointed would be an understatement. This tool is amazing! I used it to drill about 50 1/2" holes in approx 4" thick concrete floor as i was preparing to put a sump pit in a basement. I drilled the holes as an outline for a clean cut in the floor. First, the tool equipped with Milwaukee's SDS bits ate through the concrete like a fat kid eats cake! This made my job that much easier with the cordless technology and I did it all in 1 1/2 batteries. I never had any downtime charging! I didn't use the chipping feature as it is designed for lighter applications but the hammer drill function is great. A must have for plumbers who do this kind of work as well as other contractors who have a need for this type of tool!

This came in really handy and was just what I expected from Milwaukee. Great working tool. Cordless is always less of a hassle than power tools. Great product and a great price!

I selected this item to test out for trail work (quarrying rock) with a 3/4" bit and plugs and feathers(minis)with all hopes that it (like some reviews on similar li-on roto hammers) would be favored over my china made gas powered rotary hammer. one battery is good for 2(qty), 3/4"(diameter), 7"(depth) drill holes in granite. So for me to hike up 20 batteries ,or a whole solar/w/Zatrac system to keep a few batteries for up to four miles just doesnt seem worth it, for a whole days worth of drilling. You see roto hammers in Yosemite National Park are being sought out as an alternative to the Poinjar rock drill for safety reasons (cilica over exposure limits). In my 12th season I bought a gas roto hammer and love it. it is light weight, drills fast, and uses less than a quart of fuel mix on even a heavier used day I am not so thrilled about this product for practicality reasons. this product might be good for lighter applications, or if you have a few on different chargers that you can just walk 100 feet or so and change out. For remote trail work or similar applications, don't throw your money away on this one.
