I was using a 18volt milwaukee drill driver to set some concret
bolts it wouldn't drive them all the way in. So i used the 18volt
impact driver. It set them all the way in with no problem. Both
drill use the same battery.I think this is a great tool & i would recomened it.

This kit came with red lithium batteries, one battery was in a factory sealed bag and the other was installed on the driver. The cells are manufactured in Korea with further assembly in China and carries a TWO year warranty, the driver carries a five year warranty. I was hoping for Japanese cells considering the price. The reds have good capacity. If someone manages to drain one of these batteries faster than the second battery can be charged on the thirty minute charger they are really doing something, I was driving five inch lag bolts into hardwood for a couple of hours and that's after I drilled pilot holes and never needed to swap batteries, they all went in effortlessly btw.
The driver and the charger was laid bare in the case, the drivers outer sleeve had deep scratches in the metal from what appears to be from being placed in a vise, along with slight marring from being banged against the case in transit, it was nice of Milwaukee to save me the discomfort of scratching up my "brand new" tool for the first time. The plastic and rubber armor was spotless. I wonder how retail stores are able get these drivers in such great looking scratch free shape?

The light switches on without the tool spinning and has a nice delay to going out when the trigger is released. The variable speed trigger is every bit as sensitive as your finger and the tool stops instantly once released.

In my opinion, this is the best little power house on the market.
It's ability to sink stubborn lag bolts, deck screws, etc is just awesome.

PS For the people who complain about compatibly of the older ni-cads, this kit gives two batteries and a charger - do the math, learn to read and go complain somewhere else.

Putting my 2 cents in as I'm shocked this thing isn't getting more 5 star reviews. It's tough, Milwaukee has a great line of impact hex attachments for it that all come in one kitMilwaukee (48-32-4402) 35 Piece Milwaukee Shockwave Impact Duty Drill Bits and Driver Bits and fit in the driver instantly without any play, and the belt attachment is really handy. Yes, it only works with the m18 batteries... get over it. I use this tool weekly as a homeowner, have had it for about a year, and there's just nothing bad to say about it.

I do HVAC construction and use this tool regularly. Work supplied DeWalt tools and I wanted something different and tough. This is that tool. The square base of the battery gives this tool a better balance when sat down, unlike DeWalt's oval base. The belt clip has come in useful and is a great feature, not to mention it is tough. DeWalt doesn't have one. The LED light has a delay feature, so it'll stay on long enough to get another screw on bit and allow you to get back to work. I was concerned about the slim batteries included in this kit, but have held up well with this tool. They don't last long in my drill and don't fit sawzall or circular saw. Works great with my flashlight though.

Very powerful - yet compact. Not the cheapest impact driver out there, but well built to last. Also like how the batteries have a 'push to test' meter on them to indicate charge level. Sinks screws with absolutely no effort. Even used it to sink 1/4" lag bolts into a 4x4 in no time. Love it.

I had been wanting to buy an impact driver for the past couple years to see for myself if they were as good as everyone makes them out be. I mean, it's all you see in the hands of the pros on shows like Holmes on Homes so they must be good right1? lol

But given I already had two 18 volt drills and a 110v hammer drill, I kept telling myself that 200 bucks for an impact driver was too much money for another redundant tool. Then, while in the middle of another home project, I saw this Milwaukee on sale for $149 and I took the leap. I can't tell you how much I regret waiting to buy this. Arghhh! all the wasted time, frustration of stripped screw heads, dead batteries and lack of power!!!!. Some of the best DIY years of my life gone! If I lost it tomorrow I would pay double to replace it if needed. What i'm saying is if you don't have an impact driver...get one.

Now onto the Milwaukee in particular: This tool feels solid. The compact lithium ion batteries last 4 times longer than my Ryobi-One full sized 18 volt batteries. They charge quicker than the Ryobi and they don't discharge on their own even when sitting idle like the Ryobi(have only let them sit a week so far but they held at same level according to built in battery level indicator)which loose charge over that sort of time. The milwaukee is lighter smaller and more maneuverable than either of my other standard cordless drills. This thing is powerful. with a star drive screw it will drive through anything and you don't even have to put any effort into it like you would with a standard drill...the driver does it all for you without transferring that tork back into your wrist like the standard drills. Works great with phillips dry wall screws.
