This is an expensive way to drill a hole, but it works great. It cuts fast and really is self feeding once it digs in. Plus it can be resharpened. If you have a lot of holes to drill use one of these paired with a high torque drill-much better than spade bits, which quickly wear out or hole saws, which can bottom out after a couple of inches. I like the Dewalt self-feed bits slightly more because they have two cutters and seem to work a little faster with less effort.

I hooked this up to my small drill press, and am now drilling sugar water feeder back holes on beehive tops. I was trying other solutions, and also tried this with a variable speed drill and various sized bits. This and the drill press have saved my wrists and forearms, which were being stressed and fatigued by poor use of tools. This bit chew right into my pine tops and makes life good! If you need this size recessed hole - grab this fantastic tool!

Milwaukee's selfeed bit is da bomb! The pilot screw pulls it thru studs like butter... just hold on to your drill securely. Less effort in less time. Just make sure you avoid any nails in the wood or the bit becomes cabbage...probably your wrist too.

Arrived in manufactures package in good condition. These bits are great if you are drilling through 2x stock or thicker. This is about as big as a standard 1/2" drill can handle. I use a Milwaukee right angle drill on these most of the time.

Milwaukee delivers with this bit. Best selfeed bit I have used. I have to be careful with this one because It is very sharp.

my reason for giving this such a high rating is because this is a bit (tool) that makes my job easier & more efficient when hole cutting for conduit, wire & flexible tubing (duct)
