The Quick Change shank is 7/16-inch hex. The 7/16-inch hex fits both three-jawed chucks, 1/2-inch drill capacity and larger, as well as 7/16-inch Quick Change chucks. This 12-inch extension is for use with Milwaukee Hole saws or selfeed bits.

perfect extention ,had to drill through 14 inches of wood with 2 inch selfeed bit attached, worked great,product was shipped and recieved it in a few days

The set screw can get clogged up if you go deep into railroad ties. Other than that it performs as it should

I bought a Milwaukee 48-28-4006 12-Inch Hex Shank Extensions, and an 11/16" ships augur drill bit. My BAD---I never thought about asking what the diameter of the hex coupler barrel was. My drill bit worked great until I got to the extension--then it stopped because the hole wasn't big enough. I'll buy a 3/4 hex bit and try it--hopefully there is enough clearance.

So the point of this review is---don't use a bit smaller than 3/4".
