5.0 out of 5 stars Extremely sharp, little tear out, thin kerf requires less power, November 1, 2007
This review is from: Milwaukee 48-40-4112 6-1/2-Inch 40 Tooth Finish Saw Blade (Tools & Home Improvement)
Milwaukee 48-40-4112 6-1/2-Inch 40 Tooth Finish Saw Blade.

This Milwaukee thin kerf carbide blade cuts through wood products very quickly and with little effort. The carbide tips are as sharp as little razors; there is hardly any tear-out; and the cut-surface is pretty smooth. I've also used the blade on PVC trim and deck boards with great success.

The only negative with ultra thin kerf blades such as this one, is they bend much easier than standard width blades. I.e., this blade doesn't always work well with a saw guide, because the thin blade can get off-track to one side or the other and isn't sufficiently stiff to straighten itself if you didn't notice that happening. In other words, you're pushing the saw forward, but the blade may have wandered off to one side, messing up the cut. Cutting freehand against a pencil line works just fine, so that's what I usually do. When using saw-guides, you could also just use a corded saw with a stiff blade.

Using these thin kerf blades with a cordless circular saw requires less power, so the battery will last longer.

You should have no qualms about buying one of these first-rate circular saw blades. These fit the Milwaukee V28 cordless circular saw, among others.

My boyfriend the builder says he ordered this blade a long time ago, but generally found it a good blade and a good buy. He got a lot of use out of it and says he would certainly order it again. Recommends it to others.

Like others said, this is a fine sharp blade. Cut is clean and fast on my 18v Dewalt. It lasted months of weekend uses until ...

One day, a crate arrived at my home. The delivery truck was supposed to have a fork lift to unload it. Well, it didn't and the driver decided to dismantle the crate on the truck. He asked for a big hammer. So I rushed for my battery saw and tried to cut open the crate before the driver could do too much damage. We opened the crate successfully. After unloading the content, I continued to cut the crate into small pieces. It was not until the next day when I cleaned my saw that I noticed missing teeth on the blade, the result of cutting through numerous screws and nails. Despite the result, the blade did better than well.

I didn't expect this high quality for such a low price. I picked up a cordless Makita and use this for more precise cutting with less ripout and it does the job extremely well. I ordered two more just in case all of you buy out the rest of the stock!

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the Avanti blade, March 31, 2008

Little selection in the 6.5" 40th blades. The Milwaukee blade is the best for the money as the large slots in the Freud Avanti [only other choice from amazon]can catch edges and has more tearout. I wish Freud would make a Diablo 40th in 6.5".
