Milwaukee 1/4" collet,
This review is from: Milwaukee 48-66-1015 1/4-Inch Self-Releasing Collet and Locking Nut Assembly (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have several Milwaukee routers and several Porter Cable. The Milwaukee's have much less runnout than the PC's. They seem to run a little quieter too.
I needed a 1/4" collet, no one had one in town. I ordered one from a tool repair shop, the delivery was going to be a couple of weeks. I thought I'd see what I could find online as I could always use a spare. Amazon was the first source that came up. I ordered the collet and it was in my hands - in Candada mind you - in two days. The collet is great, but I'm really blown away by Amazon's service.

I needed the 1/4" collet for my 3 1/2 hp milwaukee for some of the smaller bits I use. It works well as do all milwaukee products.

Mine was backwards too!,

Like another reviewer's, my collet was shipped from the factory assembled improperly, with the collet inserted backwards in the locking nut. Ridiculous. I was quite nervous about reversing the piece without damaging the brand-new parts, but they are basically pressure-fitted, and can be removed and reinstalled with a pair of (strong) bare hands.
Now it works fine, although I find installation of bits more of a nuisance than with my Bosch router.
