Milwaukee 6266-21 Fast Cutting Top Handle Orbital Jig Saw with Case

The 6266-21 is the smoothest running saw I have ever used. I initially wanted to purchase the Bosch but foud this saw with the same features plus it was faster for blade changes with the Quick Lock blade change lever. Nearly vibration free at all speeds. Low speed power does not bog down the saw and the Bosch T-shank blades combine to give a cut as smooth as a baby's butt. It is well balanced and the snap off nose piece allows you to follow the line at a distance without dust blowing in your face but can be quickly removed to view the blade while cutting if you so desire.

I've had occasion to use jigsaws from different manufacturers and so far this one from Milwaukee stands out above the others. The low vibration is an important feature(I have carpal tunnel problems in my wrists)and the ease of changing blades means less downtime in the midst of a large job. I'd like the tool more if I could use universal blades as well, and a toolless shoe adjustment would be a desirable feature. This is a strong, well-built tool that should stand up to hard use.

I recently purchased this saw and was amazed at its cutting ability. The orbital action is very pronounced, a lot more than the Bosch's. My brother owns a Bosch and the Milwaukee cuts at least as well, if not better. The Milwaukee has a much faster toolless blade change, too. I give this five stars.

I work in a shop where tools get abused...We have the Bosch saw, and this Milwaukee.There's also a Skil collecting dust. The blade changing mechanism on the Bosch broke.The Milwaukee has a much simpler mechanism and runs just as well if not better and is a few bucks cheaper. This is the one I bought for home. I have a hard time getting this saw to chatter.I don't generally find the "orbital" function useful because it causes tearout and chipping, however I did try it , and this saw will hog through material like you wouldn't beleive.

This is a truly well engineerd tool. It runs very smoothly. Has tons of power and the slickest blade changing system on the planet. You just flip a lever , insert the blade , let go and you're in business. The adjustable orbital action is very aggressive. The icing on the cake is the lifetime warranty. You don't get one anywhere else. About the only thing I don't like is the varible speed. It's a thumbwheel on the handle , with the trigger being an on/off switch. I wish the trigger were variable as well. Oh well there's always the Bosch.

Purchased approximately 6 months ago and have had opportunity to use on several occasions. Smooth running tool and orbital feature nice, but... too difficult to see the blade while cutting. Base plate lacks a feature to slide back so that you can see and follow a cut-line.

I have been reading and reading pros and cons: Milwaukee, Bosch, DeWalt. Was working on a project several weeks ago and my wife told me to spend the money and get the saw I wanted. The 6266-21 was a great choise at that. The blade changing is very easy. I was not as concerned about the speed of the change but rather the overall ease. I had difficulty with the Bosch, not really sure if I had it locked in correctly. The DeWalt felt awkard in my hand, not neccesarily the weight but the balance of the tool. The Milwaukee provides very clean cuts, no difficulty with the sight line, and it is quick compared to the 4.3 amp $30 model I was using. Great tool!

This is another quality power tool by Milwaukee. The orbit action is just excellent and powers through 3/4 inch plywood with ease. The quick blade release system makes blade changes a snap. But, the highlight of the tool is its balance. You can even freehand cut lumber. As far as the view of the cutting line is concerned, I find it clearly visible. I chose this saw over the Bosch jig saw. Milwaukee's, simple solid quick blade change feature is typical of this tool's performance and controls - solid, strong, serious. The only (minor) complaint I have thus far is the plastic case - it's HUGE and bulky for no apparent reason. A case 1/2-2/3 the size would be a lot more useful.

I wanted this saw for what I read about it and because it felt good and had good balance, blade changing was great, and there was alot of movement on the orbital settings. What a disapointment when I actually tried to cut wood. The only problem with this saw and it's a big problem was I couldn't see the blade meet the wood, which makes it very hard to cut accurately. So this saw went back.
