5.0 out of 5 stars If it aint a Milwakee, it aint a "Sawzall"
This is where Milwaukee shines over DeWalt, Porter Cable, Hitachi and Makita. The Sawzall has improved while the others are still trying to catch up, with the wrong kind of plastic I might add. It dose not tie itself into knots but it dose not fall apart either. I hate cheep tools that break and expensive ones that break are even worse. This one was made to last and has...

We demand real work from our tools on real building sites. We purchased this tool and found frustrations quickly. If you don't hold the shoe adjustment lever closed with your hand it will vibirate loose and release the pivot shoe continously. We were demolishing a roof and it lasted all but four hours and then began "slipping" full time. The motor would run but the...

5.0 out of 5 stars Super Sawzall indeed!, March 17, 2006
This review is from: Milwaukee 6536-21 Super Sawzall 13 Amp Reciprocating Saw (Tools & Home Improvement)
The orbital blade motion clear sawdust on deep cuts, the wrenchless blade chuck operates easily and holds the blade securely, the handgrip and trigger are comfortable and the saw has plenty of power. I use it for the usual woodcutting/remodeling tasks as well as pruning ornamental shrubs. With a metal cutting blade, it has even cut through hardened bolts rusted in place on auto suspension systems.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best sawzall Ive used, November 16, 2006
This review is from: Milwaukee 6536-21 Super Sawzall 13 Amp Reciprocating Saw (Tools & Home Improvement)
In the plumbing trade a sawzall is a must have. I use one more than a pipe wrench! Therefore a good saw is a must. This is the best sawzall i have ever used in that it cuts wood and metal with ease. It does not vibrate as much as some others while maintaining a high rate of cutting power. This tool is a heavy tool which is the only thing that i can say that may cause some not to purchase it but for all that people complain about plastic parts and tools that aren't "made like they used to" this tool really is made to last. A great investment for anyone who may use this type of tool (and who wouldn't as this will cut almost anything including tree branches).

5.0 out of 5 stars Milwaukee Super Sawzall A Rugged Well Built Tool, June 30, 2006

This saw is a bit on the heavy side but perhaps that is why it is so rugged. It's counterbalancing of the stroke makes it's operation smooth with a minimum of vibration and the powerful motor has what it takes for a heavy cut. I'm glad I bought it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful, heavy, reliable., March 25, 2007

I bought mine USED from the local Home Depot rental dept., which should tell you how much abuse it no doubt received before I layed hands on it. Why you should buy this saw:

1) Variable speed control means you can slow the blade down for metal cutting; if you attempt to cut most metals at full speed, the teeth on ANY manufactur's metal, demolition, etc. blade WILL wear down almost immediately. This includes Bosch, Milwaukee, DeWalt, Irwin, etc. blades.

2) Easy-change blade chuck is just that, plus you can twist chuck open and let flaming hot used blade drop to floor with satisfying "plunk," then insert fresh blade.

3) Orbital setting (do not use when cutting metal or when cuts need to be precise) increases cutting speed--very handy for demo work.

4) 13 amps: this kind of power insures longer tool life and less operator fatigue. Look at the power ratings on the other sawzalls--this is a serious tool.

5) Other than a blade occassionally popping out of the easy-change chuck (don't worry; it doesn't go very far), this tool has performed with complete reliability for the past three years or so, plus whatever time it endured at Home Depot's rental department.

Milwaukee is the original sawzall and the still the best. Believe me, I've tried all the rest and I put this thing to the test on a weekly basis. Nothing out there can withstand the constant abuse and rigors of cutting nail embedded yellow pine, copper tubing, metal appliance shells, galvanized water pipe and anything else that might come up. Don't be shy to buy good quality blades for it.

If you don't hold the shoe adjustment lever closed with your hand it will vibirate loose and release the pivot shoe continously. We were demolishing a roof and it lasted all but four hours and then began "slipping" full time. The motor would run but the blade action lost all power. We had it replaced with another and it's cutting action began slipping right out of the case. We were cutting through 3/4" buffalo board and 3/4" pine siding, yet it kept slipping. We returned it to. The 20 year old Milwaukee sawzalls came out again and continued the job! I don't know if I will buy anymore Milwaukee tools because this has sure tainted our past success with Milwaukee tools.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spectacular!, January 11, 2007
This review is from: Milwaukee 6536-21 Super Sawzall 13 Amp Reciprocating Saw (Tools & Home Improvement)
When something does it's job flawlessly it makes everything look easy. This Milwaukee is top rated in every periodical review I read and after using it I can see why. It really is not as big or heavy as I expected. But it bites through wood and metal like a hot knife through butter. If you need a sawzall buy this one with complete confidence. You won't regret your investment.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not the Sawzall of yore..., July 8, 2007
This review is from: Milwaukee 6536-21 Super Sawzall 13 Amp Reciprocating Saw (Tools & Home Improvement)
I am a heavy Sawzall user, having used-up two Milwaukee Sawzalls. I had great luck with Milwaukee Sawzall number one and two, so when two wore out and died after a long, useful life, I saw this Orbital Super Sawzall on Amazon and purchased my third Sawzall.

I got about 3-weeks of use out of it and absolutely hate it! The Orbital feature is not all that great, and the selector switch to go between Orbital and reciprocating is designed poorly - my switch never worked easily and broke completely after 3-weeks, rendering the saw pretty much useless.

I am an avid tool junky and they get heavy use, having restored many vintage cars, remodeled (GUTTED) two houses, and as an owner of rental property. But I may never buy a Milwaukee Sawzall again after this experience.

All I ask for is a competent reciprocating saw, I don't need it to orbit or rotate or do any tricks...this saw does not fit the bill. I have had great luck with my Bosch jig saw and Compound-Miter-Chop saw that I will probably expand my Bosch tool set and get my next "Sawzall" from them...

What can i say? This saw is great! I am a carpenter by trade and i do everything from frame to finish, to remodel work. As we all know Demolition is where a reciprocating saw really shines. I'll take a milwaukee anyday. (the only other brand i've used is a dewalt... forget about it.)
