This drill is great, small enough to get in that tight places (Especially if you get the kit vs. the drill only) tuff enough to torque a #12 x 3". The battery is not as long lasting as a full sized drill, but part of being small is ya loose something.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great tool, horrible batteries
This is mechanically about the best battery operated screwdriver around, although very expensive. Too bad that the batteries and charger are garbage.

In my experience with about 8 - 10 batteries for three of these screwdrivers, if you happen not to use a particular battery for a few weeks, it will self discharge and the charger will refuse to charge it...

This review is from: Milwaukee 6546-6 2.4-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Screwdriver with 3-Piece Bit Set (Tools & Home Improvement)
This drill is great, small enough to get in that tight places (Especially if you get the kit vs. the drill only) tuff enough to torque a #12 x 3". The battery is not as long lasting as a full sized drill, but part of being small is ya loose something.

I work on computers with this drill (as a hobby) and am a master plumber (professionally). In both jobs this tool shines. But if you are looking for some thing that is about the same size and is a little tougher and has a longer battery life go with the Panasonic ey6225c... both are made by Panasonic (The Milwaukee 6546 is made by Panasonic and is the same as ey503) but, the 6225 is just a little beefier.

5.0 out of 5 stars Screw or Nut Driver for the Professional, June 10, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Milwaukee 6546-6 2.4-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Screwdriver with 3-Piece Bit Set (Tools & Home Improvement)
If you're looking for a tool to save your wrists from the repetitive tasks of removing and replacing screws, this is your tool. I have owned this tool for several years and use it everyday as a locksmith. If you need to do occasional drilling you might use this tool for small projects and the battery charges up in one hour or less. The only weakness is in the clutch and lock features which over time become ineffective.

5.0 out of 5 stars nothing comes close, June 17, 2005

I have been using the Milwaukee cordless driver for several years now. I am on my second driver. No other driver comes close to the Milwaukee's 200/400 rpm no-load speed. As a copier and printer tech doing several service calls a day the speed of this driver is one of its most important features. I don't use it for drilling or for driving wood screws but for taking apart and repairing electronic equipment it is unsurpassed.

5.0 out of 5 stars my favorite tool, July 18, 2006

This review is from: Milwaukee 6546-6 2.4-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Screwdriver with 3-Piece Bit Set (Tools & Home Improvement)
i have had this tool for two months now. I do maintenance for apartments. this tool fits in my pocket and the bits go in my shirt pocket. they never go in my tool bag. It has replaced my two or three screwdrivers that i used to carry. this tool is for jobs that dont require an 18vt drill it is a lot smaller and lighter. I use it to build and install ceiling fans, work on ac units, install cabnet doors, build prefab cabnets w/ persision, electricalswitches and plates with out cracking the plastic, the list goes on and on. the ajustable torc setting on this tool is verry usefull. for a 2.4 vt tool it is very powerfull and extreemly well crafted. worth every penny. battery lasts forever. for an electrican a must have. may be too expensive for a do-it-your-selfer but for a profesional you will make up for the price in a week with the time you will save at work. also good if you suffer from tenenitus. I dont think it would be as usefull to a lefthander.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great little screw driver, October 1, 2004

This review is from: Milwaukee 6546-6 2.4-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Screwdriver with 3-Piece Bit Set (Tools & Home Improvement)
This particular Milwaukee screwdriver is in use in the company I work for. They are used day in, day out, for assembly of sheetmetal components. In the four years I have been with this company, we have had to replace 1 driver and 3 batteries. Not bad considering there are 6 units in constant use.

Keep in mind, this is not a mega-power 18 volt driver. It is perfect for light duty work like driving self tapping screws into thin sheetmetal, running machine screws, etc. It would also be perfect for a computer repair tech running case screws.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Milwaukee 6546-6 2.4-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Screwdriver with 3-Piece Bit Set (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is aimed at providing a solid screw mover for dealing with equipment. It is not designed to drive bolts into concrete. But if you are looking for a quickly charged aid in disassembling and assembling electonic equipment, this is you tool.

5.0 out of 5 stars This screwdriver is AWSOME!, October 20, 2004
This review is from: Milwaukee 6546-6 2.4-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Screwdriver with 3-Piece Bit Set (Tools & Home Improvement)
I am a computer tech, the first company I worked for used this screwdriver, the next company used a really cheesy cheap screwdriver and I missed my Milwaukee so much I went out and bought my own. Now I have lost it (or someone borrowed it and did not return it) and have to buy a another one. This screwdriver will spoil you, nothing else will ever be good enough! I especially like the rocker switch and that I can hold it so many different ways, I tend to have joint pain and it cuts down on the stress to my wrists.

This review is from: Milwaukee 6546-6 2.4-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Screwdriver with 3-Piece Bit Set (Tools & Home Improvement)
I'm an electrician i've been useing mine on job sites for 2 years now, mostly on industrial sites. Recently it was stolen i'm planning to purchase a second one in the near future. Accepts all standard screw tips available from any hardware store and comes with a decent assortment in a handy storage spot on the charger.

1.0 out of 5 stars Great tool, horrible batteries, March 24, 2010
This review is from: Milwaukee 6546-6 2.4-Volt Ni-Cad Cordless Screwdriver with 3-Piece Bit Set (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is mechanically about the best battery operated screwdriver around, although very expensive. Too bad that the batteries and charger are garbage.

In my experience with about 8 - 10 batteries for three of these screwdrivers, if you happen not to use a particular battery for a few weeks, it will self discharge and the charger will refuse to charge it. Goodbye another $25. I've had at least $100 worth of relatively new batteries fail this way in less than a year.

This problem basically won't let you buy extra batteries to keep charged. If you do, they will just die. So, you're pretty much guaranteed to run out of usable batteries in the middle of a task.

I suggest that you buy something better.

Next time, I'll get a screwdriver with a Lithium battery, or use a regular screwdriver.

(By the way, many people who have tried to buy NiMH replacement batteries for this unit to avoid this problem have been cheated with re-labeled or misrepresented NiCad batteries.)
