This one's a no-brainer if you already have batteries.,

With a hex to ratchet adapter set and the hex to 3/8" jacobs drill chuck, this drill pretty much replaces all my screwdrivers, ratcheting dohickeys and I no longer occasionally wish I knew where my old B&D corded 3/8" drill was for those tasks the holeshooter is a tad cumbersome for. It's not a high speed drill, but it has torque to spare and actually juked my wrist once while I tried to pop a bolt loose after I forgot to switch the clutch from the drill setting. After bracing myself, it popped that bolt right out. I'm not a little guy.
I think Milwaukee is taking a hit on these to draw more people to their m12 line because 36 bucks is kind of a stupid-good deal for a tool of this quality. Hopefully that means a wider variety of tools coming soon because right now the line seems aimed at plumbing and HVAC guys. I have a more in-depth review on the kit version that includes batteries and a charger. I seriously can't think of anybody who wouldn't find this drill useful. It just has too many uses and you can carry it around in a coat pocket. It's the closest thing to a sonic screwdriver if you're enough of a nerd to catch that reference.

a bit underpowered,

i bought this because i thought it would have enough torque to put up drywall. it barely did the job on a couple of sheets. i bought the ryobi hjp002 (also a 12v system). the ryobi drove all the screws with the setting at 14 (it goes to 23). it also has much better speed control (longer draw on trigger).
i know us old-timers drool just hearing the name milwaukee, but GET THE RYOBI.
