After wearing HD boots of various styles for several years, I figured it was time for a change. I read a few good reviews on Milwaukee boots and checked out the product information: the reinforced toe to counter shifting damage; the excellent soles for traction and oil resistance; good quality leather; the height for which I had been looking (to protect my legs from hot exhaust pipes); and the flexible innersoles for comfort and lack of break-in period. I was a bit disappointed at first and was going to return them. They seemed clunky and uncomfortable, but for some reason I gave them another try. Rode my motorcycle all day with these and they were terrific! All the features became instant benefits and they were much more comfortable than that first try-on. I just need to wear high socks to keep a few rough edges away from my legs. Other than that, these are really excellent riding boots. I bought 8.5, which I normally wear in the HD's, but really needed only 8's as they are made a bit large. I wear these riding my VTX two wheeler, but stick with my lower, smaller boots for the trike, as I don't need the greater protection offered by the Milwaukee boots, and the HD's are a bit easier with which to walk: thus, the 4 stars instead of 5; but these are probably 4.75 stars anyway....
