Review

"I found myself literally laughing out loud as I turned the pages and was left wanting to share the images instantly with others. . . . Looking for a fun time? Be sure to check out this book." —Mike Gencarelli, www.MediaMikes.com (January 2012)

"Mime Very Own Book is a collection of full color photographs of vignettes . . . [presenting] a unique brand of humor using the style of the mime. . . . A worthy choice for art lovers who don't mind a bit of silence."  —Wisconsin Book Watch (March 2012)

From the Author

Our Mime, The amazing Doug Jones: 24 year acting career and the most familiar face you might not recognize. Doug's incredible talents have brought some of the most memorable and amazing screen characters to life, like Billy Butcherson in Hocus Pocus, Pan and the Pale Man in the multi-Oscar-winning Pan's Labyrinth, the Silver Surfer, Abe Sapien in the Hellboy movies, and some incredible film work too on shows like CSI, Criminal Minds, and his infamous role as the lead Gentleman in the Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode, HUSH. Doug worked as a mime to pay the bills and Mime Very Own Book brings those humble beginnings full circle.
Foreword by the hilarious Josh the Ponceman Perry: Star of the hit YouTube series Retarded Policeman and original shorts on The Perry Brothers Abnormal Comedy channel which have garnered over 100 million views and whose audience continues to grow. Josh has starred on the big screen with such icons as Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Emily Blunt,Val Kilmer, Rip Torn, Cloris Leachman and Peter Falk. Josh has not let the fact that he has Down Syndrome stop him from pursuing a successful career as an actor.
Photography through the stunning lens of Eric CurtisOriginally from Albuquerque, New Mexico, Eric moved to California after college and lives in LA where he has photographed such Hollywood notables as David Lynch, Danny Glover, rocker Tommy Lee, the bands My Chemical Romance and Linkin Park, and rapper Method Man. Eric's unique approach to photography emphasizes bringing studio lighting to the outside world, which allows him to dictate the terms of the world he's shooting.
Makeup by Oscar nominated artist Thomas Floutz: Some of Thom's work, Hellboy I&II, X-Men First Class, Sucker Punch, Breaking Bad
Costumes by Connie Perry: An over 30 year career producing and creating live events and costume extravaganzas, Connie's professionalism and creative eye were key in making the endless costume changes and challenges of Mime Very Own Book possible.

Who doesn't love Doug Jones? Doesn't matter if he's Abe Sapien, The Silver Surfer, or just dressed as a fun mime it's always amazing!

This is the funniest darned book I have ever not read. (Well, okay, there's some text here and there, so I did read those bits, but it's 98% photos.) The phrases and scenarios pictured run the gamut from Once Upon a Mime at the beginning of the book to Out of His Mime at the end, and all are clever and amusing. Some are flat out hilarious. My favorites include the Pinup Mime and Central Standard Mime. My sides literally hurt from laughing the day after I got this book in the mail. If you love puns, you'll like this book. If you like Doug Jones, you'll love this book. If you like puns, and mimes,*and* Doug Jones, this book might very well make you pee your pants.

Tastefully done 'Adult' ebook, simply adorable.

Whether you are a fan of the Art of Miming or not you are certain to crack a smile or three while viewing this lovely pictorial. Rather reminds me of a 'coffee table book', only it is in my Kindle (and Cloud) to 'thumb' through, again and again, when I need a 'pick-me-up' or just have a few idle moments to spare and no desire to have to concentrate heavily on anything.

The authors of this cutesy ebook have gained a delighted fan who admires how they accomplished putting together this piece of ART that 'speaks' volumes about a few serious, adult real-life points while carefully mingled within an abundance of humor. Excellent photography, beautiful story and finely edited, this is truly a fine example of what ALL pictured ebooks should strive towards.

Sincerely,
Reba K.

I had the great pleasure to meet Doug Jones last year and this book is the next best thing to being in his presence. Buy it for the beautifully photographed and well staged pictures. They will make you smile again and again. Doug would like that!
