5.0 out of 5 stars A Superb Album from "The Voice of the Kurdish people"!!, November 23, 2005
By
This review is from: Min Beriya Te Kiriye (Audio CD)

Sivan Perwer is the voice of the Kurdish people and Kurdistan. He is absolutely the greatest and most famous Kurdish musician of all time. His powerful voice, passionate melodies, deep feelings and masterful instrumental arrangements make him one of the most important figures of world music today. I haven't listened to the whole CD, but as I can see, it contains some of Sivan's best lawiks and songs beside some classical lawiks.

This album is the best introduction to Sivan's music. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!

5.0 out of 5 stars Phenomenal, September 21, 2005
By
This review is from: Min Beriya Te Kiriye (Audio CD)
Sivan Perwer's vocal prowess is phenomenal, and this live concert is electrifying. It's a real party, with some moments of touching sobriety like in the haunting opening track Kela Germa Havīnź and the over 5 minutes of vocalises over a mesmerising drone of Helebce. The band of traditional instruments deliver some fantastic support playing especially from the fiddle and the reed instrument. All round soulful and entertaining, its one of those discs that you can play over and over again.
