An experience that can't be duplicated,
By Nick Sanguin (oregon) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Mind Accelerator: Your Lexicon for Success (Paperback)
A great book-and let me tell you why.I was fortunate enough to be given this book as a gift about 6 months ago (before it was even available here) as my father found it online from the publishers site. Since the day of reception and our first read through it (with my father), each day since has been brighter and more invigorating than the last. A slow and steady ascension. Let me tell you about the book through my eyes: It begins with Phase 1.1-- where we are explained how our brain and minds function. This is where we become aware of the synergy between our conscious and subconscious minds, and how anything (as in any thought) we keep repeating to ourselves consciously will echo into our sub-conscious. We are shown that we can change our self concept, beliefs and attitude-and make our identity whatever we want. A confident money making go-getter, an action taking achiever... whatever we want. However, one doesn't have to be a Yogi or a zen master to do this, as this book explains. Phase 1.2 shows exactly how to analyze our minds, eliminate what we don't want and add what we want. It gives you complete control over your mind. With the help of the VPT (support team) I crafted an excellent set of beliefs to program into my mind-ones that spoke true to me and where I wanted to go in the future. Phase 2 is next. This is where we learn how we can train our minds to become smarter using the infinity mind system. To paraphrase Mark H. McCormack and what he says on the books site (he says it much better than I could) "the human brain is just as malleable as the muscles of the body, making intelligence as easy to increase and build as physical strength. If there were a mental Olympics, the Infinity Mind System is a training strategy that gold medal winning thinkers would rely upon." I had some trouble learning this training exercise, but after about 6 days of trying I got it. Some of my friends got it within an hour, others a little longer than I-I guess it varies for every person. The good news is the results are there, and I can only attempt to squeeze in a description of the intelligence increases I've experienced. My understanding and learning speeds are much faster-I get things much more quickly than ever before. My vocabulary has expanded and my creativity and visual capabilities make thinking and problem solving a rewarding experience. My brain sometimes feels like it's on fire, as the exercise stimulates it so thoroughly. This is my favorite part of the MindAccelerator. Phase 3 (about how to improve reading speed and comprehension) was the hardest thing for me to pick up on, but that makes sense because it is the most tangibly rewarding part of the Mind Accelerator, and I will tell you why. Before I had a lot of books I wanted to read, but was too lazy/didn't have the time to get through. Now I can't find enough new books of interest to read, or should I say iRead. Right away, Phase 3 shows you how to improve your reading speed 10 fold... but with work and recurring application, I finally made the leap and can read an entire 300 page book in about 40 minutes, no sweat. It took almost 3 months to get to this level, but I will have this skill for the rest of my life. It was worth the time, which is why I say it's the most "tangibly" rewarding aspect of this book. Phase 4 was no less exciting for me. This is where we learn about goals, how to set them and condition our minds with them for a more success filled future. I know, I know, it sounds easy, obvious, and not terribly informative... but believe me, I never knew goal setting could be so elaborate and comprehensive. The Goal Configuration Atlas, a drawn out map to ultimate achievement for each user was ingenious to me- and took me weeks to complete, but only because I was so committed to doing it right. This final fourth phase is where it all came together for me, where I had a masterful understanding of what I've been working for. For those going through it, all I can say is the step by step in this section is an elaborate exploration into your dreams and wishes for the future, and you need to follow it step by step. Obviously, I would give the Mind Accelerator a 10 out of 5 if I could. It is an important book for me and I know it has created a breaking point in my life-it allowed me to snap off everything about me that was average and under achieving and galvanize my mind and soul. The only bad thing I can say is, I really wish they made it as an audio book so I could easily listen to it to remind me of certain things every once and awhile. I hope this has been educational:)

A sober analysis. A good motivational book, but unoriginal.,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Mind Accelerator: Your Lexicon for Success (Paperback)
The reason for only 3 stars is the grand claims that the author makes about this book. The only reason I didn't give it 1 or 2 stars is that motiviational part of this book is very good, but if you take the time to read this review it can save you about $22. 70 percent of this book is focused on improving your self image. You can buy the best book ever written on this subject for under $1 used..it's called Psychocybernetics by Maxwell Maltz. It provides 10x the info the mind accelerator does for $22 less. The other 30 percent of this book actually focuses on increasing your intelligence. The first technique that is introduced is Image Streaming. You can learn how to Image Stream for free at www.winwenger.com and it works. Most of the section in this book that covers image streaming is copied word for word from Win Wengers web site as well. The next technique introduced is I-Reading. In a nutshell it's getting yourself into a relaxed state by breathing deep, opening a book and glancing at the pages using your peripheral vision. Supposedly your subconscious is suppose to absorb the material on the pages at about 2500 words per minute. I tried it with an open mind, and with no success. I believe I-Reading is a sham. The last part of this book is goal setting. It has you write down your goals, breath deep, then imagine that you are accomplishing those goals. Taylor Wilson did not invent any of these techniques for self improvement and mental fitness. Most of the techniques and principles in this book are freely available on the web. Like I said, the motiviational section is well written, but this book doesn't live up to it's claims by a long shot. Don't believe the hype!!

4 techniques brought together in one expensive book,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Mind Accelerator: Your Lexicon for Success (Paperback)
Okay, here's the thing:As with any book I say to thee: Here's why 3 stars: This book is a very nice effort. Lots of talk, lots of quotes, but nothing seems to "gel". It seemed a bit .. disconnected. I don't know how to explain it. Then the other thing: The techniques presented therein - 1. "Identity Restructuring System" = some NLP stuff (sorry I can't pin it down). 2. "The Infinity Mind System" = Image Streaming (see "The Einstein Factor" by Win Wenger) 3. "The Infinity Reading System" = PhotoReading (see "The PhotoReading Whole Mind System" by Paul Scheele) 4. "Goal Conditioning" = Goal Setting and Affirmations (see "Any-Book-About-Goals-Ever-Written") Now, the techniques described are only superficially explained in the "Mind Accelerator". You'd be much better off just buying "The Einstein Factor" and "The PhotoReading Whole Mind System" and other books to get a complete overview and many many other things (techniques). I say: You don't really need this book! Get other books - get the information from the source - and do your own program instead of this one expensive book! You'll have learned a great deal more and completed your OWN journey instead of this "ready-to-serve" stuff. But don't take my word for it - look at it yourself.

An Opportunity is here...,

The aspect of The Mind Accelerator that really struck me deeply was the opportunity it's creating for everyday people. Anyone, anywhere in the world, in any situation, whether they are down and out or doing extremely well, can all of sudden become so much more. This book is a real break for those of all walks of life. With this gateway to a becoming a better, more successful individual, the playing field has never been so level. The Mind Accelerator program brings people back to the roots of life and down to its very basic structure - a place where they can identify the problem areas, the things that have held them back, and start rebuilding a new life, a successful life from the ground up... enhancing what they already have and completely re-writing their habits and day to day practices where needed. In this dog eat dog world, everyone either knows a sad story or is one themselves. If this book was on all 6 billion of our bedside tables, that would no longer be the case-everything would be better.

the way to lead a successful life,
By Mark Thompson (Europe) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Mind Accelerator: Your Lexicon for Success (Paperback)
I was introduced to this book via my employer, IBM, as it was acquired as part of an employee development initiative.IBM prides itself on staying at the very edge of personnel development and the fact they have adopted this book speaks volumes. Folks, this is the way to win in the new economy-- the strategy is here. There is a fellow who reviewed this book that recommends you buy a few different books and do research to write your own program. He probably also recommends buying some land, investing in some animals and farm equipment to make your own supply of milk, eggs and fresh meat and vegetables. He would probably also tell you to write your own software programs, rather than buying any from Microsoft cause they are just too expensive:) The Mind Accelerator is a compendium of straight forward techniques that got me to the next level. I value my time and this book has shown me how to better use it. I am thinking and talking faster, thinking much more visually and creatively and am really enjoying how great ideas and insights keep jumping into my mind when I need them. My vocabulary has grown and my intelligence has leapt quite a few notches. I approximate that my reading speed has increased 5 fold, and I am getting much more out of each book I choose to read... which is the most important thing to me. I recommend anyone who is serious about competing for the best jobs-- anyone who's survival depends on their level of performance at work, get The Mind Accelerator.

I had a great time with the Mind Accelerator. Having completed the program with a few friends in Australia by using the Mind X-Change that is accessible to all book owners, the experience has been searching, changing, and revitalizing.I will continue to practice and use the 4 phases and am right now in the process of teaching my 11 year old daughter the core ones. That in itself says how much this book means to me. I recommend buying this title and taking it very seriously. God Bless:)

There have certainly been many years of testing, experimentation and research behind the methods presented. If you like learning and high achievement, then you'll probably love this book: plenty of practical techniques to try out and a guarantee, I would say, that even if your intelligence doesn't change, your intuition will definitely have improved for practising these methods. This book has an upbeat energetic style. It gave me a lot of new ideas, and I feel confident that the benefits will continue well beyond the simple enjoyment of reading.

Book of the Year!,
This review is from: The Mind Accelerator: Your Lexicon for Success (Paperback)
After 2 weeks with the mind accelerator, I am pleased with the results. The exercises are very interesting and allow you to realize things about yourself that you otherwise wouldn't. The 4 techniques that are for use everyday are designed for academics and professionals with alot on their plate which suits me perfect... As an advertising executive time is an asset I use wisely. My ROI has been excellent so far:)I plan on training our creative team in the Infinity Mind System, and am currently introducing my daughter to the concepts one step at a time. Wish her luck!

You want to become a lawyer or a doctor, but you cannot get the grades for that, and even if you could have, you know that it will be too hard for you and you might not succeed... Sometimes you try to understand things but it is too hard to hold the thought and you are blurry most of the day, and cannot concentrate... You look towards your future and see only darkness... What would become of me, you ask, if even reading a simple book is too hard for me? Not any more!!!!! So are you tired of leaving a poor and incompetent life? Buy this book! |
