1.0 out of 5 stars Mind Coach: How to Teach Children & Teenagers to Think Positive & Feel Good
I was very disappointed in the book. It was a book for little kids, not for teenagers. It is a badly shaped book and a lot of wasted space. I returned it. It does not compare to the other books by Daniel Amen that are excellent. The information in this book acan be found in other books by Amen

The manual is appropriate for younger students and older students who are still challenged with cognitive skills useful in everyday life. Format is that of a children's book and younger children can relate to the media layout. In an age of low self-esteem and non-nuturing environments thinking positive and feeling good about oneself can only enhance a child's outlook on life and affects the manner in which he/she relates to others. This book assists in helping children gain insights into the positive effects the brain can promote in the areas of positive emotions and self-concept.

4.0 out of 5 stars We need more books like this..., January 8, 2007

This review is from: Mind Coach: How to Teach Children & Teenagers to Think Positive & Feel Good (Paperback)
This is a good book for kids, though I think there should be less review of the negative thoughts and more focus on what they could be thinking about instead. Kids need examples of positives in their lives, and also how their thinking effects their daily lives. We need more books like this, and stronger.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book for every age., July 12, 2008
This review is from: Mind Coach: How to Teach Children & Teenagers to Think Positive & Feel Good (Paperback)
This book was originally purchased for our teenage daughter, but the whole family of any age can benefit
from it. I strongly recommend it. It is very helpful for people who have many negative thought patterns
that they feel they cannot break.

Great tool for working with children in a therapuetic setting. The children and families I work with really used the information about Automatic Negative Thoughts (ANT's).

This book by Dr. Amen does a great job in explaining automatic negative thoughts and how they influence our brain. I have used it with children, youth, and most recently my women's group. Learning to recognize negative words in our daily communication and knowing how to change our communication is clearly explained. This is a great little book.

1.0 out of 5 stars just a repeat of his other books, November 6, 2010

If you have any of his other books, skip this one...just a repeat of them and all of the info is in the other books. If you don't plan on buying any of his books, then yes, this is a good book to get.

This book had been recommended to me for my 14 year-old-son, who seems to get down often. I found this book to be geared towards a younger person that a teen, but it was a good conversation starter for us. The book was received in great condition and in a timely manner.
