I would highly recommend it to anyone with PTSD or for teaching and use in the psychology field.

It is also a very important aid to the family member that is trying to understand and help the PTSD sufferer on a daily basis.

I was a "Mind Frozen In Time" and now am moving forward due to the material contained in this book. I have a life today that is no longer managed by PTSD but rather a life that is able to manage the PTSD. My life today is healthy and fulfilling in spite of my symptoms due to the hard work of myself and my therapists. I have seen the changes in myself and in others I work close with after following the principles laid out in this book. Knowledge is power and this is the best info I have recieved in 13 years of therapy.

I highly recommend this book. For over a year, we have been using exerpts from this book in our group therapy sessions. Dr Crosby's main thrust is to teach you to learn to deal with the anger, frustration, fear, rejection, depression and other problems that are PTSD. Answers the question "WHY". Details the "old way" and then suggests a "new way" to make life easier and less stressful. Dr Crosby has created a book that is "Right On". Very insightful and inspiring!

The VA uses this as a guide. It is that good. Done like a workbook, in outline fashion. I don't have combat related PTSD but it is helping me. I recommend.

Dr. Crosby has hit the nail on the head with this book. His in depth study of PTSD, it's cause, it's symptoms, and steps to recovery open the door that has been locked for so many years and shows the road to recovery step by step. It is not an easy road to travel but so very rewarding when you start the journey. This book will surely hit home to all those suffering a lost life from PTSD.

This book has helped this 65 year old X Sailor get back on track after 40+ of hiding my secret, and got me back to Therapy, to assist with never-ending panic/anxiety attacks that came from everywhere with no notice!

This book from front to back offers those of us a way to reeducate the way we think. By no means a cure for PTSD it does help to identify, those certain areas that if worked on, can help us deal with our problem. Many pages of workbook style questions for each one of us to see ourselves in a different Light.

As a therapist treating those with PTSD, this book is a great way to help those suffering with this condition. I use it in sessions and also in group or a "homework" fashion. Most patients find it helpful in understanding what PTSD is, how it impacts their lives and mostly, that they are NOT alone!
