Hi, my name’s Matthew Paul Turner.
I’ve played mind games for most of my adult life.
Then, one day a couple of years ago, I woke up and decided to stop cold turkey. No more playing the games that had so often left me feeling depressed, anxious, obsessed, alone, fearful, codependent, and paranoid.
I’m no shrink or theologian, and I won’t pretend to be. But over the past several years, I’ve learned a lot about what God can do with the human mind. And I’m living proof that he can use just about any type of mind for his purpose and glory.
This book you’re holding, Mind Games, is one part my story and one part the lessons I’ve learned about my mind and how I cannot survive without thinking free—and neither can you.
Survival begins by surrendering our minds to God—willingly, passionately, and completely.
The first steps can be hard. But they can change the rest of your life.

Why can't we all be this real?,
By Chase Lewis (Lexington, Ky USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mind Games: Advice, Stories, and Truth for Thinking Free (Twentys) (Paperback)
"Relying on lies is like a guy playing soccer without wearing a cup." I love that sentence.
Humor and harsh (yet graceful) truth cover the pages of Matthew's most recent book Mind Games. He allows us to see into his mind. He opens up in a way that most Christians fear. He tells of his own struggle with the mind and where his healing began. Matthew is not afraid to admit failure and the fact that he was sometimes far away from God. To read this book is to look into your own heart and mind. This book doesn't promise an easy fix, but it does show the way to begin the healing to a healthy mind. If only other people could be so brave. After reading this book I began my own journey. I hope that I will be able to admit my own struggles and battles in my own life as he was able to. Seeing how God uses the broken.. WOW.. Not as alone as I thought I was. Thank you Matthew.. LOVE THE BOOK.

This will remain on my bookshelf for a long time,

Quite possibly the best book I've read in a long time. Mathew Paul Turner is honest, real, compelling, and more than that this book makes sense. There were eye-opening moments and also simple words that delved deep. I do not know Mr. Turner, but I commend him for writing a book of faith that truly matters.
Mind Games will remain on my shelf to be read a second time. Highly recommended. T. Suzanne Eller, author and speaker

The book is an exceptional read outlining ways to control your thoughts and to give ultimate control to God to guide your thinking. It was intriguing and the examples were rewarding.
