William Barclay has been Professor of Divinity and Biblical Criticism at Glasgow University since 1963. A gifted scholar and preacher, he has made it his lifework to share his understanding of the Bible with the lay person. A regular contributor to British magazines and journals, he is also an experiences radio and TV broadcaster. The Ten Commandments for Today is a complete revision of a series of popular articles Dr. Barclay wrote for the British Weekly.

Scholarly wisdom for laity,

Dr. Barclay's Mind of Jesus is fantastic! Dr. Barclay explains complex and difficult teachings and themes in the Bible where anyone can understand them. Dr. Barclay can be trusted. His Daily Study Bible series is used the world over as a commentary. And to the "reader" from Albertville, AL: Dr. Barclay was not an Anglican/Episcopalian. He was an ordained minister in the Church of Scotland which is a Presbyterian body.

Author, William Barclay, provides a background of scripture and the culture of the time. In that context, he tells what he believes Jesus was thinking.
I appreciate the picture Barclay creates with the knowns of our New Testament scripture and the history and culture of the time and area. I admire and appreciate Barclay's courage in saying how he thinks Jesus felt and what he thought.

In this amazing book, Barclay covers every aspect of the life of Jesus. He follows the Gospels very closly and adds so many things that only a historian of imtimate knowledge of the times that Jesus lived in would know. His knowledge of the Greek and Hebrew that the Bible was written in adds to a greater knowledge of a more exact meaning of words that have been translated into English. A wonderful resourse book for anyone wanting to know who Jesus was and why he was sent to the world.
