Spectacular - the ultimate in sonic sculpture,
By A Customer
This review is from: Mind: Perpetual Intercourse (Audio CD)
Skinny Puppy has proved again and again that they are the masters of creating artistic sonic sculpture, and Mind: The Perpetual Intercourse proves this as much as any Puppy album. Every song on this album is awesome, from the great opener "One Time One Place" to the short and eerie "Love" and the even more eerie "Stairs and Flowers" to the dancable "Dig It" to the final crunch of "Deepdown Trauma Hounds", M:TPI is a must-have for anyone who likes music, especially if you like Puppy. Buy this - you will NOT regret it.

The most chaotic of SP's works...,
By Cognitive Dissonance (the 9th Layer of Hell) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mind: Perpetual Intercourse (Audio CD)
I have to admit this is probably my least favorite Skinny Puppy album, mostly because of the overlaps. By this I mean songs that also appear on other albums. Love is carried over (unnecessarily in my opinion) from Bites... and isn't really changed much. Deep Down Trauma Hounds is too long here and seems unfinished, as does Addiction. Both of the latter two sound ten times better on Cleanse Fold and Manipulate (and in fact are 2 of my favorites from CF&M, and SP in general...)As for the songs that are exclusive to Mind, there really is no middle ground, everything seems to be really good or really bad. I find it hard to listen to without using my handy track skip button. One Time One Place, God's Gift (Maggot), Dig It, Antagonism, and Chainsaw are excellent songs... and the rest just aren't really worth listening to, after you've heard them a couple times. I give this album 4 stars because of those songs listed above, and because it was a gateway of sorts to the best of CF&M. One word of advice, like a previous review stated... this is definitely not for new Skinny Puppy fans. Get one of their later albums first and work your way back.

Too early for it's time,
This review is from: Mind: Perpetual Intercourse (Audio CD)
I can't believe this came out in 1986! This album sounds like it came out in 1996! It's that good, any fan of industrial or dark music would like this cd. You must check out "Dig It".
