Blows there last cd out of the water, and a top 10 cd of the the year, July 28, 2006
This review is from: Mind Tricks (Audio CD)
i thought there last cd was good, but not great, like one of the other reviews i like a lot of strids work, not to sure about coldseed, but that's another cd. let's talk about this cd.
yes they are going to sound a little like soilwork with strid at the helm, but they bring there own flavor to the table,
they play heavier and faster then soilwork has been playing in years, and because of that i love it, i like stabbing the drama it, it's way better then figure number 5, but this cd to me harkens back to classic soilwork day, chainheart machine( some serious fast shredding and thrashing), predators potrait(the clean harmonizing vocal stuff which DM uses but not to much of like latter day soilwork) and a little of natural born chaos( this cd is kinda atmospheric in parts not much but enough to make me mention NBC and i like that part to).
i'm partial to Chainheart and Natural Born Chaos and this cd is right down that alley, this was a nice surprise the cd, the year is only half way over, but this cd has a good chance of staying in my top 10. the energy dispayed on the cd is amazing, the musicianship is second to none, you cannot and will not go wrong with this cd. this cd and Mygrains's ORBITAL DANCE are my favorite two cd's at the moment, mygrain plays in this same vein so if you like this cd, you need to seriously check out ORBITAL DANCE, trust me.

Flawless metal, December 17, 2006
This review is from: Mind Tricks (Audio CD)
I was a huge fan of "Fragments of D Generation" (the prior album) and I would have to say that "Mind Tricks" either matches or surpasses it. Ettore Rigotti has got to be the most amazing musician in metal today. He plays guitars, drums, vocals, bass and keys and writes the music!!! Come on. That would be impressive even if the music sucked...but it's unreal. The addition of Claudio Ravinale's extreme vocals makes the sound on this album all that more intense. There are no less than 3 vocal styles being used in most songs (Speed, Ravinale's and Rigotti with clean) and I f**cking love it. If you enjoy music like Soilwork, Dark Tranquillity, Darkane, or (newer) Hypocrisy than you should love Disarmonia Mundi. Check it out.

Blistering Melodeath, August 7, 2006
This review is from: Mind Tricks (Audio CD)
Mind Tricks is early Soilwork on steroids, yet more complex and even speedier in some parts. The brilliant dual vocals and over-layered riffs give it a real 3-dimentional sound (as had been mentioned by another reviewer). Ultimately though, Disarmonia Mundi are not comparable to anything else. They are a progression from 'regular' melodic death, piling in a multitude of harmonious sounds on top of the standard song. The various layers fight for your attention, and the result is that no song is ever boring. Somehow they manage to keep things coherent while firing away, it is certainly a 'mind trick' that they achieve.
Disarmonia Mundi give a new meaning to the phrase "sonic attack".
