perhaps it was the pre AIDS stress that caused this man to create such a masterpiece! His style influenced others to follow. All tracks are superb for listening, dancing, or whatever. It is a great journey. Patrick is the daddy who helped DJ's push the HNRG into the underground world of greatly appreciated sounds.

Inside the mind of a genius,

This album is a work of art, and in some ways very confrontational to listen.
Patrick Cowley wrote and produced this album in 1982, while in his final stages of AIDS. It's a very candid look into the world through his eyes. How he felt, how he heard things and how he saw life. The music itself is electronic but very experimental, and has an understandable dark and paranoid tone through out. To appreciate this album, you need to listen to it from start to finish without interuption. I don't want to single out a track as a highlight, as it needs to be heard as a complete body of work. Listening to this, I really feel like I am having a personal conversation with Patrick, an almost uncomfortable closeness though his music. I would suggest skipping the bonus tracks, as they are remixes of album tracks. I think the album needs to stand up as it was intended to be heard, though I do understand why they were included.
