The Legacy band does a wonderful job here. Many of these players I am not familiar with. That is what made it so exciting. Superb playing..each member of the band.And John's great music is the foundation, of course.
An excellent CD in every respect...BUY IT !

I just received and listened to The John Hicks Legacy Band's latest release, "Mind Wine: The Music of John Hicks." I feel transformed! It is a beautiful tribute to a beautiful composer and pianist. John's untimely death left a void in the jazz world. But lucky for us, Elise Wood-Hicks, his widow, as well as the other fine artists on the CD, are here to carry on his legacy. I love this CD. It is a must for anyone who loves jazz. BUY THIS CD right away!
