Life and creativity are a choice filled with the power of small moments.

This ancient Zen story speaks to the power of small moments:
There were two old masters sitting side by side. One of them reached for a needle and began to mend some clothes.
“What are you doing?” Dongshan asked.
“I’m mending clothes.”
“How do you do that?“
“One stitch is like the next,” said Shenshan.
“What, after twenty years of practice – that’s all you can say?” said Dongshan
Shenshan put down his needle and turned to his companion. “Well then tell me. How do you sew?”
“As though the entire earth were spewing flames,” said Dongshan.

Your life can be filled with moments where each one is like the next where you make the same choices you’ve made before, or you can choose to live a vibrant life full of flames and color and creative living.

Use the tips and meditations in this book to develop mindful creativity so you can live your life as if the entire earth were spewing flames.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mixing minfulness and creativity makes for inspiring results, January 28, 2012
Karen Daniel's book, Mindful Creativity: Easy Tips and Meditations to Unleash Your Creativity and Purpose was thoroughly refreshing. The tips in the book were very useful and Karen's approach to creativity throughout the book was playful and fun. The meditations weren't what I was used to but, I enjoyed the fact that they weren't what I expected. Karen's meditations took the reader through guided visualizations to rid them of energy that pulled down their creativity in order to more fully embrace the uplifting energy of the creative spark. I felt very invigorated and enthused about working with my creativity afterward. Karen's passion for creativity as well as her depth of knowledge on the topic came through quite clearly. If you're looking for motivation and inspiration to begin your creative endeavor look no further. I highly recommend Mindful Creativity.

5.0 out of 5 stars Moved my Needle on Meditation, January 3, 2012
So I have read this author's books on IVF Surviving In-vitro Fertilization: IVF Stories and Inspiration from the Women who have been there and In-Vitro Fertilization: The Ultimate Reality Game: one woman's uncensored journey and even have bought her "children's" book about children who come to us in less traditional ways The Baby About to Be Born, a story of spirit for adoptive and A.R.T. families (IVF Stories and Inspiration)...but I must admit I am not a touchy-feely meditation person...so I was not convinced about this title. But the "easy tips" part of the title swayed me.

But this book really moved my needle on trying meditation. Instead of trying meditation of "relax" this type of meditation actually embraces and focuses that energy...not trying to get rid of it!

Do I know what my purpose in life is...not yet. Am I further down that path having read this book...absolutely.
