Loved the mix of factual evidence and brain science with common, everyday practices accessible for anyone, at any age. Filled with funny, elegant, and sincere stories from her own life in parenting, this book is filled with brilliant tips that I have started to use already. It has helped my family to be more engaged, more centered, and to truly live more fulfilling lives. I have bought this book for friends and family, and would recommend it to anyone interested in mindfulness, or being more present in their relationships--I think that everyone can benefit from reading it!

I loved this book because it provides parents and kids the tools to cope with life. My family life is getting faster paced and more stimulating daily and Mindful Parenting provides realistic solutions to help calm down my kid's brains to help them process the fast pace world around them. My favorite analogy in this book is "Mr. Rogers vs. Sponge Bob". As a 43 year old mother with 2 daughters I can relate to Mr. Rogers from my youth, and Mr. Rogers vs. Sponge Bob allowed me to better understand the type of environment my kids will face as they grown up. I believe you can't control everything in your kids world and as a parent I feel to raise strong successful kids they have to learn how to cope with the world around them. This book gives great tool for kids and parents. Hope you enjoy it too!

As a meditation teacher, I find this book to be invaluable. I highly recommend it if you want to understand how today’s technology is impacting our children. What makes this book stand out among the rest is that the strategies and techniques are supported by brain science research. The information is well organized and I now have a book I can recommend to parents when they ask what they should read! I liked the book so much I bought a copy for several parents of young children I know as well as the parents of my 6 grandchildren.

The wisdom expressed in Dr. Kristen Race's book is an articulate expression for parents and grandparents. It's thoughtful and thought provoking as she has raised the consciousness of what she terms "generation stress," but can also apply to an older generation. It's interesting to read her clear descriptions of the "stressors" in the human brain, but more important the means to relieve it in her "mindful" approach especially as experienced in today's busy, modern world. I would recommend this book to everyone for it's concise and readable result.

The author’s views about the purpose of preschool and preparing kids for kindergarten are apt. The book gives details on Brain science and stress response in the brain. They have also researched impact of TV programs like spongeBob V/s caillou and their effect on kids brain.

The author has also given age appropriate activities that parents could do and keep their kids busy and not just use media as a means of entertainment. I liked the part on hanging up and hanging out and the letter of 10 year old Ryan to his mom on hanging up and hanging out; making mealtime fun, simple power of sleep, teaching children to relax, cultivating mindful children, meditating with your kids, tree pose, various books for kids on meditation, creating a special moment with your child each day like telling a funny story.

An easy to read book on parenting and mindfulness.

This is a great book. I didn't come away it from feeling defeated or confused, as I do with some parenting books! Rather, I had some new and exciting ideas about how to integrate more mindfulness into my parenting. I especially appreciated the focus on our brains, how they work, and how we can use that knowledge to make more effective, empathic parenting decisions.
