3.0 out of 5 stars "Minding Amy starts off with tons of excitement..." November 27, 2011
By MNix
Format:Kindle Edition
Amy Norton is a London journalist trying to get out of her father's shadow. Her father is a successful investigative journalist. Amy is ready to leave the Woman's Page at the paper and take on a serious investigative piece. When the host of a popular TV show goes missing, Amy is on the case--at least, she wants to be. Unfortunately, she needs her father's permission first; it is his paper after all. Per her father's request Amy will have a bodyguard while investigating the disappearance, much to her chagrin.

Sebastian Armitage owns a very successful investigative and protection firm and although he doesn't usually do bodyguard work he is more than willing to protect Amy's body. Actually, there are quite a few things he would like to do with Amy if she will give him the chance. Sebastian and Amy set this investigation on fire but how will Amy take it when she discovers Sebastian has been lying to her since day one? Can Amy find the missing host or will her investigative hopes go down the drain?

Minding Amy starts off with tons of excitement. An awkward yet sexy meeting, a shocking surprise and sizzling chemistry between Amy and Sebastian were exciting. Unfortunately, the excitement cooled too quickly for me. Amy and Sebastian do have tons of chemistry and sex appeal but I found the story a bit slow. I couldn't get into the disappearance plot and I found the ending a bit anticlimactic. However, I did enjoy the portions surrounding when Amy discovered the truth about Sebastian. Those were my favorite scenes of the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Love Story June 2, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was my first non-paranormal read and it was fabulous! I got this as a free read on Amazon and I'm so glad I did. Amy is a journalist who is looking for something different, something exciting. She finds it when a famous TV personality goes missing. When she gets the ok for the story she had no idea that she would need a bodyguard, Sebastian. Not only does she get her story but she also gets something else along the way. This was a really cute story, I would definitely recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Delicious Fun from a Virtuoso Author June 29, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
Minding Amy is a delicious romp of a novel from a virtuoso author--a reader-pleasuring joy of an adventure that's served up with fun-loving, sympathetic protagonists, plenty of wit, and erotic engines that never power down. The dynamic between Amy and Sebastian as they become increasingly entangled in their assignment and with each other is utterly charming; and the book reminds us time after time that Saskia Walker produces some of the best sex scenes to be found anywhere.

4.0 out of 5 stars Minding Amy January 29, 2012

This book was a great read! I wanted to read something short and this is my kind of short! It had a fun story line and the beginning of this story is down right HAlarious! You have Amy who is this reporter for a paper and she goes on a blind date and ends up hitting on the wrong guy! Talk about embarrassing! Quickly following that she gets a lead on this story she wants to cover but her boss aka her dad will only allow her to pursue the story with a bodyguard...cough cough...this bodyguard happens to be the handsome gentleman that she came on to the night before. So great another embarrassing moment for Amy. Not only does she see this guy again but now he's her bodyguard! Sebastian aka the bodyguard hasn't been able to get the mystery woman who came on to him at a bar out of his mind. She abruptly left him and he doesn't know her name. Sebastian's a PI but has decided to take on a bodyguard job since none of the guys at his office are able too. He gets a surprise when it is the woman from the night before...As soon as he sees her he plans to woo her...But Amy is so embarrassed and is really focused on her job she tries to keep away, but since they're going to be together 24/7 can she remain focused?
Again this is a great story and has some great steamy scenes!! I really enjoyed the story and loved Sebastian's character!

2.0 out of 5 stars Minding Amy ** With minor spoilers April 20, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really had to struggle to end this one; I found the plot weak and the characters not very likeable… Sebastian was a bit too over-confident to me..not in a sexy hot alpha male style but kind of a Tarzan/jerk way...Many times he acts like: I know you want me or I will leave clues for Amy to solve the mystery of the missing TV star because obviously she cannot do a thing on her own. I hate this type of heroes and I HATE heroines that act as stupid and helpless as Amy.

All the drama about Sebastian not telling Amy about his real job as a PI was a bit silly… but if you are going to write 100 pages about that, then don’t make her act as a spoiled child and then forget everything after 5 minutes…( I mean, she gets really indignant with Sebastian and her father for not telling her about his real job, she makes quite a scene of how furious she is, but almost immediately she forgives both of them and she leaves for another sex escapade under the argument that HE is her reward for acting with integrity?…!!!!! )

To definitely ruin the plot for me, all the mystery of the disappeared star ends up being solved with no much fuss and no mystery at all…VERY disappointing.

3.0 out of 5 stars Good story but...
This is a good story. You're quickly drawn in to the lives of Amy and Sebastain and their passion. This could have been a 4 star book but the editing errors were very distracting.

More About the Author

Award-winning British author Saskia Walker first dreamed of writing her own stories when she discovered a handful of romance novels stashed away in her school library. An avid reader, she lapped up the adventures and the life-affirming emotion of these stories, but always felt dismay when the bedroom door closed the reader out. She vowed that in her stories all the passion would be right there on the page.

Saskia began writing in the late 1990s. By that time she'd traveled the world, gained a B.A. in art history, an M.A. in literature and the visual arts and she'd worked in several diverse careers--but the stories in her head simply had to be written.

It is the combination of potent eroticism and strong storytelling that has become the leading characteristic of Saskia's work. Fascinated with seduction, she loves to explore how and why we get from saying "hello" to sharing our most intimate selves in moments of extreme passion. She writes across genres, often incorporating elements of history, the paranormal and the fantastic in her work. As well as many novel- and novella-length publications, Saskia's work has now appeared in more than eighty international anthologies. Her erotica has also been featured in several international magazines including Cosmo, Penthouse, Bust, and Scarlet. Her debut novel received the Passionate Plume award for the Best Contemporary Erotic Romance of 2006, and her first novel for Harlequin, Rampant, was nominated for a 2010 RT Book Reviews Reviewers' Choice Award in the Best Paranormal Erotic Romance category.

Nowadays Saskia is happily settled in Yorkshire, in the north of England, with her real-life hero, Mark, and a houseful of stray felines. You can visit her website for more info. www.saskiawalker.co.uk
