5.0 out of 5 stars Not at all two stars
I just got my copy of this cd and after listening to it for the first time I must confess I was surprised and very disappointed with the only review it has so far in which a collegue from Texas is rating it two stars only because he doesn't like "female vocals in most rock situations" as he puts it...It is not fair at all. I agree with him though in regards to the music...

I just got my copy of this cd and after listening to it for the first time I must confess I was surprised and very disappointed with the only review it has so far in which a collegue from Texas is rating it two stars only because he doesn't like "female vocals in most rock situations" as he puts it...It is not fair at all. I agree with him though in regards to the music which I find very good, and I must say that I also find Aleena's vocals interesting and not at all disturbing . I will have to say that in order to compensate the too low two stars I am giving it 5 although after listening to it more times my rating could change slightly. Kaipa for years have been one of my favourite groups and I warranty you will not be disapointed by getting this cd. Go for it!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Roine Stolt is god, December 1, 2008
This review is from: Mindrevolutions (Audio CD)
I must admit up front that I'm not objective when it comes to Mr. Stolt.I first discovered him(by way of the Flower Kings)about a year ago,and have been mesmerized since by both his personal and creative explorations of prog music, plus that distinctively virtuosic guitar work. However, with that said,Stolt and Flower King fans alike, should immediately get this disc,as I find it to be Stolt's finest hour(actually the usual 70 plus minutes).Fitting, since Kaipa was his original band, ironic because he actually is "only" responsible for all the guitar work,a little percussion, and unnoticeable back. vocals.Doesn't matter,Kaipa co-originator, Hans Lundin, has written some gorgeous songs here, and shows himself to be a master producer ,allowing more room for Kaipa's state of the prog musicians to roam than he has in the past.Though this is Stolts' party, special mention must be made of drummer extaordinaire,Morgan Agren. It's easy to see why Zappa brought him into a few of his projects.Agren reminds me of a more subtle, though just as powerhouse,Alphonse Mouzon.Lastly, tho I usually hate this cliche, this is the rare disc you can stop at any track and enjoy. My personal faves are the epic title cut,and Timebomb-with it's vicious attack against "this man is made of steel,He's acting like a father, but behaving like a boy,He leads us to destruction, and it brings him power and joy"Finally, with the music swelling ,drummer Agren propels the band to a tumoltuous finale,as singers Patrick Lundstrom, and Lundins' daughter,Aleena, instruct us that"Black as oil this game-4 times to the end!Take that,Dubya
