Book Description

Zaddack, 3 May 2002
A great Dark is sweeping through the universe, killing all life that dares to stand in its path.

In MindSpark, the startling third book in The Zaddack Tales series, life in the
Universe is pitted against an elemental force that brings a fate worse than death. This intriguing work of fiction by Karen Daniels (karendaniels.com) is a thought-provoking adventurous read.

On old Earth the finest minds in the Affiliation struggle to find some way for life to survive. But the slim possibility for deliverance falls to one individual, a soul-damaged human turned oreseeker named Jaspen. Jaspen is linked to crysolium, ore that can be infused with mindsparks, the essence of life. But crysolium only offers potential salvation if Jaspen can overcome his fears and give up the only thing he has ever cared about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't put it down..., September 21, 2002
By
This review is from: Mindspark (Zaddack, 3) (Paperback)
Karen Daniels has taken the Zaddack Tales to a surprising and wonderful end with Mindspark, book 3 of the trilogy. Her stories are suspenseful, engaging, and complex, as are her characters. I couldn't put it down! It's a fascinating experiment: take social/personal themes and issues and place them in an imaginary context light years from the one in which we live. Watch how it plays out. The message of her third book is profound, and challenges our sense-our very perception-of light and darkness, good and evil, the nature and balance of the universe.

As someone who's not necessarily a fan of science fiction, I found myself completely consumed by the worlds Daniels has created. What brilliant imagination! I strongly recommend this book, particularly for those who may not be so inclined to pick up a science fiction novel. You won't be disappointed.
