Better than Brilliant!,

Even as an ex Australian Sapper who served in Vietnam in 1967-68, I can do little better than offer the following link:[...] This is perhaps the best piece of Australian military history I've read, from the philosophical through strategic to tactical by an ex officer who is tri-lingual (English, French, and Vietnamese) thus facilitating a unique ability to analyse primary sources. The incompetence of command to the bravery of the digger is all here, along not just with commentary but professional analysis. If you served in the event known as Vietnam, or a member of your family served, this is a must to learn about the incompetence of command that caused nearly 40% of all Australian casualties by their planting of a minefield that became a depot for the NVA/VC from which they drew weapons to kill and maim Australian soldiers and inflict hurt on their families to this day. Please, please read this book. |
