Editorial Reviews

From the Publisher

This text examines the importance of mineral resources in modern society and explores the complex relationships between the geologic, engineering, environmental, economic, and political concerns that control our mineral supply. The text provides students with a basic understanding of the geology of mineral deposits and the many non-geologic factors that govern their recovery and use. Balanced and thorough, this text also gives the instructor flexibility in course emphasis. Its environmental coverage, outstanding illustrations, vivid photographs, and integrated approach to resources and economics clearly sets this text apart.

2.0 out of 5 stars decent general text, difficult to read, May 9, 1999

This review is from: Mineral Resources, Economics, and the Environment (Paperback)
This text is difficult to read, as it is written in a very information-dense style. The figures are often very busy, as too much information is put into each one. This book should be used as a reference volume, but probably not as a textbook.
