Second best I've tried, but . . ., December 10, 2011
This review is from: Minerve Whole Roasted French Chestnuts 7.4 oz (Misc.)
The best pre-cooked chestnuts I've found have been the Wang brand of Chinese chestnuts in the 5.29 oz. bag for $3. These are obviously much more expensive. There's a double sized jar that's a better buy, but there's also a negative review there (presumably the same product, maybe he got an old jar). I found these to be very good, firm and tasty, but the Wang chestnuts are a little more yellow inside and have more chestnut taste to them. I'm not that price sensitive myself, and if this is all I had to buy, no complaints. Maybe it comes down to whether you prefer buying foreign products from France or China. Kind of a toss up . . .
Also, not that it matters much, but the calorie disclosure is questionable, half what most other sources claim.
