A Mingled Yarn,
This review is from: A Mingled Yarn (Paperback)
As an adoptive mother, I was intrigued with the subject matter. I wasn't disappointed! The story relates both sides of adoption with real pathos and understanding. I loved the message that a child can be loved regardless of birth circumstances. I also think the story depicts the extraordinary emotions that involved in the search for roots. I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a book that holds your interest from the the first page to the last; as well as one that explores our motives in life quests. The ending was a poignant reminder to follow your dreams, without expectations of "perfect" answers; and letting life journeys lead you to the places you must go.

I was hooked from the first page of the prologue, and felt that I was right there in that maternity ward recovery room with Kathryn, the main character, cradling the baby she would, within minutes, give up for adoption. The feeling in those first pages of Candace Toft's novel is unforgettable. Compelling and filled with the complexities of life, A Mingled Yarn is a heartfelt book that is as honest as it is intriguing. |
