"Mingo Kane was born and raised in Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains. After high school he entered the United States Army and served with Bravo Company 1st/75th (Airborne) Rangers. Mingo has since enjoyed a host of different and often unique occupations: Bouncer, Security Specialist, first class high voltage lineman and now a full time writer.
When he's not writing Mingo can be found hunting and trapping the mountains near his cabin or on one of the many waterways fly fishing.

That's the official biography. What you find on the social sites and Amazon. Mingo Kane is far more than that, but he will never tell you. Why?
It's actually really simple: he's a man of honor, honesty, integrity, and humility. He doesn't just represent the 7 Army Values that all soldiers embrace. He is a Ranger who answers to a higher law, and he honors that.
Mingo Kane isn't just someone who cares about his fellow veterans. He cares about everyone. If his kindness, gentleness, and sensitivity to others, his willingness to lend an ear or lend a hand isn't legendary, it should be. Always one with a ready smile, and a kind word, Mingo is the kind of guy that makes you feel you are the only person in the world, and he is there to help you.
In his eyes that armor is tarnished, but underneath all that is a heart of gold that beats for others. He is the Ranger, the Warrior, the Sentinel you are always glad is on watch, and he is always there.
He represents the old slogan "God made Rangers so that Marines would have a hero." And so, much like the main characters in his books, he is always ready to wage war on the side of justice although more often than not, he stands in the shadows, watching, waiting, a true warrior in control of the situation and in control of his life.
Like the Phoenix, another shadow warrior, he is my hero. He is proud of being a Ranger, and they should be proud of having had him among their ranks. He represents not only the Warrior Ethos but the Ranger Creed.
Warrior Ethos
I will always place the mission first.
I will never accept defeat.
I will never quit.
I will never leave a fallen comrade.
Ranger Creed
Recognizing that I volunteered as a Ranger, fully knowing the hazards of my chosen profession, I will always endeavor to uphold the prestige, honor, and high esprit de corps of the Rangers.
Acknowledging the fact that a Ranger is a more elite Soldier who arrives at the cutting edge of battle by land, sea, or air, I accept the fact that as a Ranger my country expects me to move further, faster and fight harder than any other Soldier.
Never shall I fail my comrades. I will always keep myself mentally alert, physically strong and morally straight and I will shoulder more than my share of the task whatever it may be, one-hundred-percent and then some.
Gallantly will I show the world that I am a specially selected and well-trained Soldier. My courtesy to superior officers, neatness of dress and care of equipment shall set the example for others to follow.
Energetically will I meet the enemies of my country. I shall defeat them on the field of battle for I am better trained and will fight with all my might. Surrender is not a Ranger word. I will never leave a fallen comrade to fall into the hands of the enemy and under no circumstances will I ever embarrass my country.
Readily will I display the intestinal fortitude required to fight on to the Ranger objective and complete the mission though I be the lone survivor.
Rangers lead the way!
And there you have it. Mingo Kane is leading the way. This time not as a Ranger but as a skilled writer who writes literary fiction that will draw you in and introduce you to characters you will never forget, plots that make the ordinary extraordinary, and a mastery of the language that makes you laugh, cry, and feel better for having read his work.
