This review is from: Mini All-in-1 Memory Card Reader Blue Compatible with: Secure Digital: miniSD (with adapter), microSD/TransFlash (with adapter), Compact Flash: CF I, CF II, CF Ultra II, MicroDrive, xD Picture Cards and more (Personal Computers)
Shipping was quite fast, especially for snail mail from Jersey to Washington state.
Packaging wasn't all too shipping friendly. That is no bubble or air wrap or protection other than a fold & seal cellophane bag. We won't even go in to the fee I paid for shipping, versus the fee on the envelope or that Amazon taxes you (and of course the company) on this. I'm not overly happy that they sent me a pink one, when I ordered blue. Well, that was the color here on Amazon. I will say this. On the compact flash reader; One of the pins was bent down slightly, which went back into place very easily with a toothpick. Three additional pins extend out of the pin line up. Whether this is really needed or not on this model, I can't say. I haven't seen this on any other cf reader, & it certainly isn't hurting the read/write. Also note, that CF is read upside down from the other slots. You can see through the translucent plastic On the SD reader; Be careful of your lock data pin, as there isn't much room there (is there really?). Sliding it in, you may unlock your card. I had more of an issue when I was pulling it out. I only have SDHC cards & it read & wrote them with no effort. Initially, the computer locked up on restart (shutting down). Than again on the next restart (on booting), with a card in the reader. It also froze when I tried accessing an image file, right after writing it (and it stopped blinking). Unplugging & restarting fixed that. I don't know if it'll crop up again but I doubt it. This is only a single card (at a time) reader/writer, even though there are several slots. Not a big issue if you have other readers, but not if you're looking to write from another card on this unit. It just locks up & says that it needs a card. I bought it to speed up my CF copy to the desktop, from my on board 1.1 reader/writer. Which this does quite well. I have it on a 2.0 four way hub to a dedicated 2.0 USB in the back of the tower. Windows wasn't happy when I unplugged this & another reader, after opening them both. But I don't do that after testing whether I can or not. Before you ask me elsewhere in the car forums. Yes, you can use this to read music from a CF card quite well. Of course, your mileage may vary. Swapping to SDHC wasn't an issue either. The cord makes it nice if you want to tuck the reader out of the way. Seeing my OEM stereo was a double DIN, I can just tuck the reader in the storage tray under it (that I added after installing a single DIN stereo). Final words. It's plastic & made in China, it works & it's cheap. It has a cord, not a USB head, which if you want that as I did, is a good thing. You can shove it in your pocket, but keep in mind that the slots are open, so not a pocket with dirt & dust bunnies in it. Overall, buy two or three while they're cheap. Day two: Went out to test some batteries on the camera. Shot maybe 400 megs of macro shots, using a San disk 8 gig Ultra card. Plugged the reader in to first review the shots. It shut off on the second picture. Unplugged & tried again. Same thing, it would power off, than power back on. Tried a restart & it locked the computer again. Unplugged the card from the cable, computer rebooted. Now the card reads unformatted. Says the same thing in the camera. not a good sign. Put the card into the other computer (running ME). Card is read, but with errors. The kind which freezes your computer. Got 16 of the 17 pics copied, but had to warm reboot the computer, as it froze on that. Those pics are fine. Two gig CF card test. 310 megs of pics transferred fine. It read the images as well as transferred them. Back to the 8 gig & it choked a little, powering off & on a couple times. So that's sad, because that's the card I bought this device for. Additional note on the SDHC card. Even if it comes right from the camera, it will not delete nor rename files. Not good if this is your only reader. So if you want to add a reader for your compact flash cards, to your ride, or your cards are 2 gigs or less, this is great. Kinda shaky on 4 gig SDHC cards, because it won't delete files. Which may be a good thing if that's what you're looking for. Hope this helps you decide.

I was a little weary of purchasing this. The price is to good to pass up. The day I got it in the mail I tested it for hours. I put this little device through its paces. It read PC cards, flash, what ever I put in it no problems. I would encourage anyone to try this one out. It works on my XP machine wonderfully. I have not tested it in Windows 7 laptop. Great little device.

These card readers are very cheaply made. The mini keeps disconnecting causing my computer to conect then disconnect several times quickly Then it would unload all my accessories(scanner, printer, disk drives, etc.)and I would have to reboot my computer to reinstall Them. The Pro Duo slots are not working on both readers. I bought 2 of these and both were the same. My Pro Duo memory stick got stuck in one of the readers and I finally got it out but not before damageing one of the cards contacts. At first I thought I had flipped the card over but On that slot it's impossible to insert the card in upside down. Oh well, What did I expect for a penny! Don't buy this reader!!
