About the Author
Phyllis Pellman Good is editor of Festival Quarterly, a magazine exploring the art, faith, and culture of Mennonite peoples. She and her husband, Merle, oversee The People's Place and the Old Country Store. Phyllis is the author of several books, among them Cooking and Memories.
The Goods are the parents of two daughters and are members of the Landisville Mennonite church.
Rachel Thomas Pellman is manager of the Old Country Store in Intercourse, Pennsylvania., which features quilts, crafts, and toys by more than 200 Amish and Mennonite craftspersons. Rachel and her husband, Kenny, are co-authors of The World of Amish Quilts and its companion book, Amish Quilt Patterns.
Rachel and Kenny are the parents of one son and are members of the Rossmere Mennonite Church.
Phyllis and Rachel are sisters-in-law.
The Pellmans are well-known as the authors of The World of Amish Quilts, Amish Crib Quilts, and Amish Doll Quilts, Dolls and Other Playthings.
Rachel Thomas Pellman is manager of The Old Country Store in Intercourse, Pennsylvania, which features quilts, crafts, and toys made by more than 350 Amish and Mennonite craftspersons. She is also the curator of The People's Place Quilt Museum in the village of Intercourse. A graduate of Eastern Mennonite College, she has written Amish Quilt Patterns and Small Amish Quilt Patterns. She has also co-authored The Country Bride Quilt, The Country Love Quilt, The Country Lily Quilt, The Country Songbird Quilt, and Patterns for Making Amish Dolls, Quilts Among the Plain People, From Amish and Mennonite Kitchens, and 12 Pennsylvania Dutch Cookbooks.
Kenneth R. Pellman is manager of The People's Place, an educational center concerned with Amish and Mennonite arts, faith, and culture. Kenny graduated from Eastern Mennonite College, where he was also a faculty member in the drama department. His photography has appeared in many books, including a National Geographic publication. He has also co-authored Living Without Electricity.
The Pellmans were married in 1976. They live in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, with their two young sons, Nathaniel and Jesse. They are members of Rossmere Mennonite Church.

ExcerptEasy Creamy Chocolate FudgeMakes about 2 lbs.1 lb. real chocolate
1 can condensed milk
Pinch of salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2-1 cup nuts
1. Melt chocolate in double boiler. Stir in condensed milk. Add salt, vanilla, and nuts.
2. Pour into greased 9" square pan. Cool and cut into squares.
Sparkling PunchMakes about 5 qts.1 6-oz. can frozen lemonade
1 6-oz. can frozen Hawaiian Punch
2 6-oz. cans frozen orange juice
2 qts. water
2 qts. ginger-ale or 7-Up
Combine all ingredients and mix well. Serve well chilled.
