Mini-FM Transmitter + Charger with LED Display for Apple iPhone (1G & 3G) and iPod Video, Classic, Nano, Touch (1st & 2nd Gen)
I am a technician so I did a lot of research on this item. I bought this one because of the 5 star reviews. However, it didn't work. I tried it first with the cigarette lighter adapter. When I plugged the FM Transmitter into the iPod, I couldn't see the #'s, then a little backlight came on and I still couldn't see the #'s unless I tilted the whole thing at a strange angle. Then when I found the right frequency to use, it was just ok. A little static but not too bad. It totally drained my iPod battery instead of charging it. I went home and charged my iPod and tried it again the next day. I tried it this time without the cigarette lighter adapter and the FM transmitter and radio station matched and the result was the same. Just a little static, but usable for a few minutes until the #'s on the FM transmitter started changing all by itself and wouldn't stop. I hadn't touched it and it had been playing a song from my iPod in an okay fashion. Still couldn't really see the #'s on the FM transmitter, they were very dim...almost looked like it was getting no power. I stopped for gas, turned everything off and when I turned it back on, NOTHING! No #'s on the FM transmitter no sound from my iPod to the car radio...NOTHING at all! So my opinion on this product would be (INSERT BUZZER NOISE HERE)...I think it isn't a good product.

1.0 out of 5 stars Pretty but terrible, August 31, 2009
This review is from: Mini-FM Transmitter + Charger with LED Display for Apple iPhone (1G & 3G) and iPod Nano (3G & 4G), Touch (1 & 2G), Video, Classic (3rd, 4th, 5th Gen) (Electronics)
I purchased this item after reading some of the previous reviews, it is the worst ever. It drains your ipod battery like no other. the play time is maybe a half hour to 40 minutes. I have a 4th gen ipod nano, but i dont think that has anything to do with this.
It changed frequency at the slightest motion.
many times, it just starts scanning through all the stations and stops playing.
impossible to use when connected to be charged.
Bad transmission.
Horrible product, do not buy.

1.0 out of 5 stars C'mon REALLY!?, June 21, 2009
This review is from: Mini-FM Transmitter + Charger with LED Display for Apple iPhone (1G & 3G) and iPod Nano (3G & 4G), Touch (1 & 2G), Video, Classic (3rd, 4th, 5th Gen) (Electronics)
I was so excited to receive this product. I needed a transmitter and charger in one. The transmitter worked okay beside having to switch station every few minutes, or placing my hand over the end of the transmitter to stop static. What was so upsetting is that the charger easily BROKE out of the transmitter.

- Static-y transmitter
- NO CHARGER!
- Piece of Crap!

Sound had heavy static unless within 1 foot of antenna. Tried in 2 different cars with different stereos; however the results were the same.

Send the product back to manufacturer for a refund. Two months later - still no money.

5.0 out of 5 stars ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!, March 5, 2009

I love this product! It's slim, sleek and very easy to use. Other FM transmitters I have used sounded horribly but this one transmits clearly over the radio! This is a must have for anyone with an Ipod!

It is totally useless, the transmitter is too weak, it has to be less than 2 inches from the radio other wise won't work. The LED display isn't bright enough, you barely can see the numbers. The sound is really bad quality. It doesn't worth!!!!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely worth it, January 8, 2009
This review is from: Mini-FM Transmitter + Charger with LED Display for Apple iPhone (1G & 3G) and iPod Nano (3G & 4G), Touch (1 & 2G), Video, Classic (3rd, 4th, 5th Gen) (Electronics)
I received this today, which was the estimated day, and Just took it out in my car. It works perfectly with my touch 2G, but I need to pull back the ipod cover I have, which is a hassle. Nice and compact, and the wireless is great. Haven't tried it on my home stereo yet, but with such high-quality sond in my car, the stereo should be great. I recommend to anybody with an ipod. Great product

The only problem I had w/ this is the sound was kind of weak and if someone else w/ an FM transmitter was nearby, I would get their music. Other then that, it's good enough.

2.0 out of 5 stars Broke with little use, January 17, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)

Bought this for my sister about a year ago; she only used it for traveling. She got nearly 20 uses out of before the charging port broke and fell off from the motherboard. Soldered the connectors back but within a few more uses, they broke off again.

She also claimed that the sound was "muted" a bit and if she did not have it connected to the power adapter, the iPod's battery drained rapidly.

Not bad for the price but spend a little more on one that is more durable.
