4.0 out of 5 stars Cute gift idea
I recieved this as a gift last year. It's a great little kit. The pieces fit together OK as long as you roll the dough really thinly. You can also cut the warm cookies to make the edges more exact. The wooden chimney pieces are a bit silly; I don't like to mix edible with inedible pieces on anything someone might consume. It is a bit nuts to make the 30 or so mini...

2.0 out of 5 stars Could have been better
This is a cute little kit, but there is room for improvement. The two cutters that are in the kit do not fit each other. The rectangle is fine for the roof part but has to be trimmed to make walls that fit. There are 2 wooden chimneys in the kit that went in the trash, they do not even fit the size of the tiny houses. The recipes are Ok. The instuctions are OK, nothing...

The instuctions are OK, nothing special. If the time had been taken to make at least 4 cutters, the house front and back, the sides, roof, and chimneys, this would have been a great set and I would have paid more for it.

It is a bit nuts to make the 30 or so mini gingerbread houses by yourself, but some of us are nuts that way. They make great ornaments, small gifts, kid projects, etc. We sold them as concessions at a holiday recital.
I would highly reccomend this to anyone who has kids who like to cook, or adults who like to make finicky food. If you are the type who usually buys refridgerated cookie dough, cuts the rounds, and calls that a Christmas cookie; this is probably not a book for you. If you have a hidden Martha Stewart side, or would take hours to make a scrapbook page for the homecoming of your first pet goat; you'll like this kit.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Family Fun!, January 15, 2007
This review is from: The Mini Gingerbread House Kit (Paperback)
These little gingerbread houses were so easy to put together and were a fun change from the standard big house. We placed each house on a foil lined piece of cardbard so they could create not only a house but a yard too! I made a double batch and brought them to my daughter's class at school to decorate. They were a big hit!! A definite staple to have for Christmas baking.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too small to bother with, November 25, 2010
This review is from: The Mini Gingerbread House Kit (Paperback)
This thing is so tiny that you would have to put in a lot of work, for very little result. Waste of time.
