If you need to pull ear hair out of a dog's ear without possibly locking onto an ear part and hurting your dog, this is exactly what you are looking for. This is especially true for little dogs' ears. Just add some ear powder to the pulled hair and pull out a few at a time. Wonderful product!

Ear Care for Maltese,

This tool is very good for pulling the inner ear hairs of my Maltese mix puppy. Now if he would only be still (laughter) it would work even better. It says non-locking, but it does have little ridges on the inside "scissor" part which grasp the hair. Usually, I just put a little baking powder on my fingers though as the puppy is so wiggly.

I am pleased with this item! I now remove the hair from my poodles' ears without having to wait until their next grooming appointment. It is easy to use and convenient. Just make sure you use the pet ear powder it makes the hair grasping easy. Hooray!!!!

Even though I bought them, I'm not thrilled with the idea of poking around inmy dog's ears with anything smaller than my fingers. But after he and I both got use to it, I found that even with a good ear powder this hemostat still didn't get a good grip on, and remove ear-hair that my fingers couldn't reach. Someone should come up with a tool like this, made with rubber tips...where the pincers are coated in rubber. They're working out OK though.

Wonderfully Effective,

Wonderful product. I used these to clean my dog's ears with excellent results. The thumb-grips work for both left and right-handed users, and the tips are rounded so that you don't risk nicking your dog's sensitive inner ears with anything sharp. I have small hands, and while they did slip down to the base of my thumb a couple of times, they weren't uncomfortable. The grips are wonderful and grabbing and gently pulling out sensitive ear hair. I would highly recommend using these in conjunction with the following product, as my dog experienced zero pain during the procedure: R-7 Ear Powder 12 GM The mini-version is 3.75" long (from tip to base of handle), and the holes in the grip have a 1" diameter.

I have a shih tzu/bichon cross dog. He has more hair than three dogs. If I don't keep getting the hair out of his ears, he ends up with a huge snarl of hair in there, difficult to get out. And painful too, I am sure. i bought this hemastat and it works great. My only problem now is keeping the dog where I can get at him. he does not like this chore. LOL
