I love this book! It's a book about miniature golf and actually is a miniature golf book (new Shimmer is a floor wax and a dessert topping!). Complete with a club and balls, you're ready to play. I bought a copy for myself and my father-in-law. When is the sequel coming because I want to play 9 more holes.

Very clever and very well-made,
This review is from: The Miniature Book of Miniature Golf (Board book)
My best friend and I used to play a LOT of miniature golf years ago, so I bought this as a b-day gift for her. When I got it, it was WAY more clever than I anticipated. You really do have to see it. The pages are intricately designed and built, and that makes them challenging to play. One hole in particular (the hedge maze one) will drive you nuts. Even the text in the book is informative (when true) and funny (when not-so-true). Again, it's so well-made that there's a certain "wow" factor when you flip through it. This thing would be perfect on someone's desk at work.

When I saw this book I had one of those Aha! moments--I can't believe no one thought of this before! Genius! Cute concept, well-executed, fun, and really kinda challenging. I had ordered it as a father's day gift, but when it arrived I couldn't resist playing with it, so I ordered another one for my father.

Pictures don't really do this little book justice - only when you're holding it can you see just how nifty it actually is. The Miniature Book of Miniature Golf comes complete with a tiny golf club and two balls and plays like a real, albeit tiny, mini golf course. There are nine holes in all, including mini golf classics like the windmill, the sand trap, and the clown face. Beautiful to look at, fun to play, and highly addictive. My eleven-year-old nephew loves it, as does my dad (just as well, he's getting his own copy for Father's Day).

When we saw this book in a store, we thought it was gimmicky -- but our child thought it looked fun. And, boy, is it fun. The book -- or should I say "9-hole micro-mini-golf course" -- is very well-made, and has some very clever design features. Kudos to the author and publisher for putting (no pun intended!) together a quality product. We will be looking into other books by this author!

Viewed this in a shop at Disney but they only had the display model which was damaged. Amazon was half their asking price and they arrived in perfect condition. Great Christmas gift.

It's pretty hard to catagorize this book.Yeah, you could call it a book,or you could call it a game;but whether you like golf or playing with games, this book will give you lots of fun.
Mike Vago has taken the Minature Golf Game out of the amusement park and placed it on the table right in front of you. Its not very big, only 6 X 6 inches and 1 1/2 inches thick. It opens up to give you 9 separate holes of golf. Each hole is accompanied with a bit of story, rules and suggestions on how to tackle the challenges of that particular hole.As the name implies ,the holes are more like one finds at the Minature Golf Range than on Championship Courses. Each hole has been given its "Par" to challenge you.Par for the 9-hole course is 29.You can compete with yourself or against an opponent. It can be quite addictive, as you are challenged with all the things such as sand traps, water holes, bridges, doglegs, mazes and just about every hazard you find on a course, and including penalties. It is well constructed and will give many hours of entertainment and challenge as long as treated properly. It opens very well, whether you are on the beginning or last holes. This is because of the simple ,though ingenious construction of the hinge. The game should definitely be played on a hard, flat surface such as a desk or table. It is also ingenious in that you drop the ball in the hole in the cover, turn the "Page" and then it is ready for you to start the first hole.Likewise,on "sinking" the ball,it goes through and awaits you on the second hole, and so on to the end of the course. The only shortcoming is the container for the club and balls.I actually made a new cover out of a piece of heavy clear plastic and use a bit of tape to secure it.Losing the ball might be a problem, but if that happens, a small steel ball bearing would have to be found. It would have to be metal,as plastic would be too light. The book should have come with several spare balls. Anyway,a great challenge to make par.The instructions and rules don't talk about "holes in one" but they are possible ,though very risky,by flipping over the "hazards","roughs", etc.on the course. Have a good game ;and don't worry about the sun screen or the weather!!

It's a cute idea that enables you to play miniature golf anywhere! The different holes have different themes (a dinosaur, a skull) and different pars. I wish it came with more than one golf club and that there was a convenient way to store the balls and clubs after you open it however. I think the whole thing will go in a ziplock bag so we can put it in the car and bring it anywhere!

This book tickled my golf-loving brother pink! His children also wrestled with him over it. It truly brought a smile to all our faces!

My mother in law got this for my son when he turned 7. He LOVES this book and has been playing with it on and off for the last 7 months. His 5 year old and 2 year old brothers love it too (it's probably not recommend for young children due to the small golf balls and club, but we watch our son closely when he plays with it). It's nice and portable too! Very fun!
