Having been a breeder of Miniature Horses for over 12 years I have often been frustrated by the lack of accurate printed information to suggest to other Miniature Horse beginners. This book is a MUST HAVE for anyone involved with Miniature Horses. It is very helpful to prospective owners in supplying information on just what to expect with the breed regarding care including types of housing and fencing. This book has been a long time coming. I suggest it to everyone who comes to my farm to look at horses.

This is an absolutely wonderful book! We will recommend it to all of our mini buyers. Barbara definitely knows miniature horses and has passed it along in this book. She covers EVERYTHING about miniatures, we especially loved the coat color section. A "must have" for all miniature horse (and other) breeders.

This is THE book on miniature horses. My library would not be complete without it. If you can buy only one book, get this one. I've just acquired 2 minis and one more is on the way as soon as he is weaned. I've had full sized horses before, but this breed is somewhat different, with unique problems and advantages. Ms. Naviaux covers every related subject very well. History of the breed, coat colors, dwarfism, correct physical characteristics, miniature horse association registration, veterinary concerns, showing, etc. I've since bought additional books specific to coat color and veterinary care but I didn't really need them. I am thrilled to have found this book and it is a treasure.

This book has proven to be an excellent source for comprehensive information on "minis". It is well written and its format makes finding topics easy. This book is must for anyone desiring to understand and know their miniature horse better.

This book should be required reading for every miniature horse owner/breeder. The chapter on coat color alone is worth the price. The chapter on conformation is wonderful, easily understood, should result in less of a population of pot bellied, short-legged horses. Finally a comprehensive reference on this endearing breed of horse.

This is the most informative book I have ever read on miniature horses and it should be in the hands of every breeder of miniatures. It is well written, many photographs and subjects that every breeder can refer to from time to time. The information in the Chapter on Coat Colors alone would help to make registration papers more correct. The Chapter on Genetics and Reproduction makes this a must for all miniature horse owners. Well written, easy to understand and could be considered the "Bible" of miniature horses.

We found this book to be very informative, great for all mini owners, experienced or novice or even if you are just interested in mini horses. This book is a must for future mini horse owners, full of facts and diagrams and the colour pages on coat colours are excellent. We especially found the history of the mini horse in America very interesting.

This informative book will be an asset to anyone interested in miniature horses, from the novice to the expert. Very easy to understand with a great layout that makes it easy to find exactly what you are looking for. It includes a wide range of subjects, from purchasing to selling, and everything in between. It also has the history of the Miniature Horse and a beautiful color photo section to help understand the various coat colors. Probably the most informative Miniature Horse book on the market.

This is the best book about miniature horses I have read to date. She goes in depth on several important things, two of which are color and breeding. I highly recommend it to anyone thinking of buying one. Or if you already have miniatures and you're looking for a really good book on the breed look no more! This one's it!

This is the best book I've found pertaining to Miniature horses. It's well written and has lots of good advice. The second half has a lot of info on the genetics of color. While I thought I wouldn't find this very interesting, it's turned out that I spend lots of time reading this section and looking at the facinating pictures. I highly recommend this book for anyone seriously interested in minis.
