5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Miniature Projects, June 10, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: In Miniature Style II: Over 40 How-To Projects (Paperback)
Miniature Style II has some truly wonderful miniature projects. I'm looking forward to making the adorable dress from the famous doll artist Lucie Winsky. Some other projects I am excited about are the Tudor furniture by Lori Rosemann, An Olde-World Finish by C. Verstraete, Fun Frugal Flowers by Lori Rosemann, and the Hand-crocheted Afghan by Mary Ann Bresnahan. The instructions are easy to understand and the color photos are nice and large. If you love making miniatures, you can't go wrong with this book.

This is a wonderful book with lots of pictures and easy to understand projects for people who work with miniatures. There are clearly defined chapters with many different types of scenes and ideas as well as step by step instructions to make many of the included miniature scenes. I got Chris' first book In Miniature Style, as an e-book and I am very glad I got this one in hard copy because it is great to have as a reference. Great job Chris!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars In Miniature Style II: Over 40 How-To Projects (Paperback), May 13, 2011
This review is from: In Miniature Style II: Over 40 How-To Projects (Paperback)
I recommend this book because I truly enjoyed reading it and this book covers so many different topics in miniatures. Some of my favorites were the "How To" projects for, creating a porch scene, making wire and glue flowers, and how to make an easy chair and to dress and wig a store display bust. One of my favorites were done by Chris herself on how to create a vignette with an "Old World" finish. I had the opportunity to see it in person and I must say that this looks even better in person. This book was also delightful because it has several patterns to go along with the projects. No matter what your skill level is, you can create any of these projects for your dollhouse or vignette scenes in miniature. This book also covers different scales and even have patterns that goes along with the instructions to several projects. The final thing I really thought was wonderful is the fact that I can read and view it on my iPod Touch.

In Mini Style II is an outstanding source of ideas and instructions for the miniaturist. All levels are accommodated, from the intrigued beginner to the expert craftsperson, from using found objects to crocheting the most detailed afghan. I especially liked the ideas around finding a "structure" in which to "plant" a miniature scene, like a soda fountain inside an empty ice cream container. The text is fun and inspiring to read and all the instructions are very clear.
