From the Actor
In four separate videos roughly an hour-long I will take you step-by-step through many techniques. The first video begins with correct preparation involving gap filling and pinning. I demonstrate how to use clay shapers with two-part epoxy resin (green stuff) this combined with plastic ensures miniatures are assembled correctly.
Although this is primarily aimed at people new to the hobby it certainly makes good revision for the more advanced painters among you many experienced painters have picked up tips from this first section.
The next video is dedicated to nonmetallic metal the myths are dismissed and we show you how simple this skill can be without any wet blending. For those of you wanting to take things to the next level clear demonstrations of binding coats enable you to involve 20 to 30 highlight stages if you feel it necessary. Whether you're a beginner or an advanced painter this will prove a valuable insight to NMM.
Moving on I dedicate the next hour to creating an effective base to mount your miniature arm this involves creating cobblestones paving using green stuff. Millie put is used for an alien type base with a three-phase stippling technique. Clearly for maximum effect these bases will need to be dry brushed and painted using the skills previously shown. Utilising scenic water and vulcanised would adds new levels of detail to your bases. I also include a section on treating articles and snow bases using plastics and microballoons to simulate snow and ice.
The final video is about airbrushing and vehicle simulation techniques. I begin with an overview of the airbrush and demonstrate this is all shown on a warhammer 40,000 land raider Tank. Many other techniques are covered including using make pigments to simulate rust and dirt. Combining flock with plastic party for realistic mud. Paint chips and mud splashes are also clearly shown. Using the techniques in this video I have sold model vehicles on eBay for over £250.
