5.0 out of 5 stars The coolest dragon!
I have no doubt. This is the best of all the gargantuan dragons, with incredible details, Icing Death is a perfect and impressive miniature. The ice on it's wings looks real, and the details of his mouth and scales are beatiful. The pack also includes a drizzit miniature, holding his scimitars, and a Wulfgar in a special white cloth, holding his magical bloody hammer...

3.0 out of 5 stars Repaint a Must
While the sculpt for this dragon is excllent, and the two other miniatures were also superb, the painting is ABYSMAL. We have gone from the days of 200+ painting steps on an icon (the supposed number for the red dragon) to 3. Paint the mouth red, paint the horns beige, drybrush rest of the dragon white with a sloppy paint job.

The pack also includes a drizzit miniature, holding his scimitars, and a Wulfgar in a special white cloth, holding his magical bloody hammer.

The pack is great because you get a cool dragon, a competitive miniature for skirmish (Wulfgar) and a classic one, in a new concept (Drizzit), the map is also cool, and improves your game, because you can use it im some snowy adventures, it's perfect to be used with the Frostburn supplement.

This is a must have for those who love the Crystal Shard, who love Forgotten Realms, or just his most popular hero.

'The Legend of Drizzt Scenario Pack'

In my truly humble opinion I would say that this fine example of Dungeons & Dragons collectabelia is a joy to behold and own. Not only through the aquirement of arguably the most beautiful example of dragon creation so far seen from the wonderful and vast catalogue of 'D&D miniatures' in 'Icingdeath' the doomed gargantuan white dragon but also the kudos of possessing without doubt the most beloved and reknown hero in the forgotten realms 'Drizzt-Do-Urden'. Coupled with this too is the Thor-esque barbarian hero 'Wulfgar', clad in furs and weilding his warhammer within an apparant state of rage. Furthermore to complete the set can be found a luxurient double sided battlemap of a frozen wintery appeal. I am currently planing an adventure set in the icy north where there lives a terrible white dragon that preys on the helpless communities who surround it's lofty lair. If only there were a group of brave and stout heroes ready to take up the challenge by travelling through the jagged and inhospitable mountain range to track down and rout out the foul hearted beast. WOULD 'YOU' DARE?

3.0 out of 5 stars Repaint a Must, June 23, 2011

This review is from: D&D Miniatures: Legend of Drizzt Scenario Pack (Misc. Supplies)

Now I might have just recived one that got put together at the end of the day, but there is left over glue poking out of cracks, one joint was ruined by an enormous glob of paint, obscuring the detail, and the lovely translucent wings, one of the selling points, are covered with paint that was splattered on in the painters haste to get the item moving.

I am a painter, however, so I am doing my best to fix all of these errors, and feel confidant that with some love, Icingdeath will look genuinely menacing.

The other two miniatures have paint jobs on par with most miniatures, that is to say, poor. But that is par for the course.

Those who are willing to touch this dragon up, go for it! Those that are not, think hard before running the risk of getting a dragon that looks more like he fell in a bucket of whitewash than something worthy of the icons line.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great deal for 3 great figures, May 24, 2010

The white dragon is a really cool looking figure. The craftsmanship is excellent. I use these minis in my D&D games. One of the few gargantuan figures, you can use it to represent any other gargantuan sized creatures in your game (purple worms, etc.) -- not just dragons. When not being used in the game, the figure looks fearsome sitting atop my bookcase with the other big dragons -- the gargantuan blue and black, and the colossal red.

Amazon gave it to me for a great price, considering the size of the figure. Plus, it comes with two medium size figures: the drow Drizz't, and the barbarian Wulfgar. These are really cool figures too, especially if you read the Forgotten Realms novels. This was a great buy for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best D&D Icon to date., January 17, 2008

This review is from: D&D Miniatures: Legend of Drizzt Scenario Pack (Misc. Supplies)
I've gotten all four currently release Icons from Amazon and this dragon is by far the best it terms of appearance. The Colossal Red may be much larger and more expensive but without a lot of work it can't match the White's appearance. If you ever use the Dragon for skirmishing you'll be better off with the Black or Blue but for display I favor the White.

The boon and bane of this Icon Pack are the two smaller figures that come along to fight this dragon. This does push the price higher than either of the other Gargantuan icon packs which can be a turn off. The kicker is that you get a resculpt of Drizzt (along with his skirmish information if that is important) whos previous version from Archfiends routinely has sold at more alone than this entire pack. For a DDM skirmisher Wulfgar isn't bad although I found him in a booster. It may cost a little more but I think the dragon alone is almost worth it and with the price it costs to get Drizzt this is almost a steal.

5.0 out of 5 stars I hate to paint, thats why!, November 30, 2007

This review is from: D&D Miniatures: Legend of Drizzt Scenario Pack (Misc. Supplies)
I love these figs. I never was any good at painting so if I wanted to use miniatures I had to pay to have someone paint them. Now the painters were nice an all but they are flakey, and slow. This is a much better solution.
The Dragon and Driz are both excellent miniatures.

5.0 out of 5 stars not only an icon, but a "legend come true", February 8, 2008
This review is from: D&D Miniatures: Legend of Drizzt Scenario Pack (Misc. Supplies)
this set is not only a decoration or a one-time war oppurtunity, but also takes you in a legendary fight and live it through your blood, to share the struggle of the heroes of north, drizzt and wulfgar, battling the greatest of the white wyrms in the history of the realms, the dreadful icingdeath, and the fear running through their heart...

as i mentioned not only a great white wyrm, the dragon at your hands is actually "icingdeath", which is terrifying!! :)

i am more into story so, sets like that offers me much more than just "icons", i mean the collossal red dragon is not much of a value to me, but here comes icingdeath, which means a villain of story, nightmarish stuff :)

how much you can imagine about the great red wyrm as "klauth" or as "malystryx" it won't give me the same feeling as having the original one, so new sets like "gargantuan orcus" feels much better for me, cause they are more into role play / story..

how much do i talk :) BUY IT!!! :D

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but minor flaws, September 21, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: D&D Miniatures: Legend of Drizzt Scenario Pack (Misc. Supplies)
A decent model of a classic chapter of D&D lore. The models of Wulfgar and Drizzt are good (as good as other D&D miniature mass-produced models anyway) and I wasn't really expecting much from them. But I did have high expectations of the Dragon itself after having purchased all of the other D&D Icon models. Unfortunately this one wasn't up to par. It may have just been the model I recieved but it had a seam going across the middle of the wing that distracted from an otherwise really good model. Other than that no problems. I give it three stars due to the minor flaws in the products craftsmanship, certainly not deal-breakers, but noticeable.
