The B-707 320C was one of the first successful long-range jet airliners. This aircraft was recognized as the best choice for a new “state of the art” executive transport to provide air transportation for the President of the United States. Aircraft 26000 was first used to transport President John F. Kennedy and was equipped with extensive communications and amenities unlike any other aircraft. This airplane served succeeding Presidents and VIP’s until retirement in the 1980’s.

Product Description

Highly detailed 1/144 scale assembly model kit of the Boeing VC-137C United States Air Force aircraft. U.S.A.F. VC-137C was a customized version of the Boeing 707 which entered service during the Nixon administration in 1972, and it used the call sign "Air Force One" when the President of the United States is onboard. Two VC-137Cs were built (SAM 2600 & SAM2700), and the aircrafts served all US presidents until George W. Bush. VC-137C was retired from service in 2001. This Minicraft 1/144 assembly kit features: 2-part fuselage assembly and 4-part wing assembly. Retractable nose and main landing gear. Decals with markings for both SAM26000, now at the Air Force Museum, and SAM27000, recently located at the Ronald Reagan Library, in California. Markings also include the presidential seal and the stylish design suggested by Jacqueline Kennedy and created by Raymond Loewy.

For the price I believed this model would have been a snap together finished product like my Hogan models. Tjis purchase was a bust. Total throw away!
