Between the bricks of towering buildings and the sleepy lovers setting fire to curtains behind their windows, a story seeps. Its subjects are living phantoms composed by Jessica Larrabee, the raw, ethereal voice behind the Brooklyn-based SheKeepsBees. At age twenty-six, together with collaborator, producer and sound engineer Andy LaPlant, Jessica releases her first full length album, Minisink Hotel. Through this birth there has been an acquired knowledge of focus in the fire regarding her calling in performance--makes it evident she is connected to something outside the worldly realm when she sings. The album was recorded, mixed and mastered at home with little more than a microphone and a computer. With the exception of banjo Jessica played all of the instruments you hear on these recordings and co-produced the album with Andy LaPlant.
