This review is from: Ministerial Ethics: Moral Formation for Church Leaders (Paperback)
This book excellently describes ethics in decision making and reveals ethical principles in the Bible that every minister of any degree should be required to read. I read this due to a class required by the North Carolina District of the Assemblies of God and have heard from several senior pastors that the guidance found in this book would save many a pastor from making ignorant mistakes in leadership.
Why is this needed for Christian leaders who should be moral already? Because this book reveals that people with good morals can be ignorant of unethical behavior which effects their leadership and those who follow them.

Used this book for a Ministerial Ethics teaching tool. Tremendous effect on the students. A copulation of ethical findings from various views, steps for ministry, codes of ethics samples and ethical agreement.

Informative but redundant,

I purchased this book for a ministerial creditial class I am taking. The book had many good points and was very informative on the subject matter. However, I found the authors' writing to be very redundant. The authors chose to say the same thing multiple multiple times in order to make their point. I would had rather had them to just get straight to the point. The book served the purpose for which I purchased it and I would recommend it, if this is the book that your course requires. I would not have purchased it otherwise.

A sober and committed in-depth discussion,

This review is from: Ministerial Ethics: Moral Formation for Church Leaders (Paperback)
Written by the editor of "Christian Ethics Today" and by a veteran pastor of thirty years' experience, Ministerial Ethics: Moral Formation For Church Leaders is now in its second edition. Chapters address critical issues such as moral choices that confront a minister, interactions with colleagues and congregations, the thorny and deleterious issue for clergy sexual abuse, and much more. A sober and committed in-depth discussion of serious matters.

There are many good things to say about this book. There are also many great points of information. I however, found two things which caused some difficulty for me: 1) Quotes and excerpts from others. 2) Repetitive coverage of certain topics.
Overall, this book was rather informative.
